We'll definately take that stat while the true test is yet to come. Nevertheless, Improvement Indeed.

paying attention to team stats in preseason is almost as much folly as gambling on preseason games.

We weren't playing against their best line or RBs, teams are generally sorting out the pass game in preseason, and that stat fails to account for the numerous sustained drives we gave up.

sure we weren't getting gashed by their reserves in the run game, but until we see starters against starters with actual game plans, be sure to have a couple grains of salt handy.

Yeah - really can't know about this until the real bullets are flying in September, but the Jags clearly made several moves with the intent of overhauling run defense.

Lots of beef added in the middle, new scheme, more aggressive DC, a couple of new guys in the back 7 that thump a little more.
We'll see... Maybe it's enough to get them above "middle of the pack."

I don't think we'll see #2 rush defense during the reg. season, but #15 would be big time improvement.

Yes. Anything good or bad doesn't matter in the preseason. Individual play is what you are looking at if anything matters. Wrs running and catching and CBs covering. Things of that nature. Too many back ups being played to read anything and the play book is not being utilized
