You're reaching. It's a legitimate investigation. Besides, is there anything more frustrating than being denied a McFlurry at the drive-thru when you have your taste buds primed for one?

Before you know it, doctors will stop treating McFlurry caused type 2 diabetics. Did I do that right?

I can’t tell you because I don’t know what you’re trying to do.

I'm mocking the current push to not treat unvaccinated people in hospitals. Also pointing out that McDonald's is one of the main culprits of childhood obesity and the eventual strain it will cause on our Healthcare system. I find it laughable this is a priority for the Biden administration. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

People choose to allow their children to become obese, and McDonald's is only one of thousands of sources for unhealthy food. Who said this is a priority of the Biden administration? This is what the FTC does. You're being unreasonable. Don't be unreasonable.
Yet, he's not wrong. If America is about choice, and the vaccine keeps a person from being seriously ill, then it's up to the individual on whether or not they want to get vaccinated or take the risk that comes with getting covid. In the same way, it's up to a person whether or not they want to avoid McDonald's or take the risk of getting a disease from being unhealthy. He's applying similar logic that's happening in the other thread. There are plenty of people attacking the unvaccinated for their choice in the matter.
Back on topic, I have no problems with this administration investigating that company. The were clearly exploiting McDonald's. On the flip side, how dumb is McDonalds?

But obese people don't make other people obese simply by breathing the same air.

It is about choice, but at the same time, and not to derail the thread, unfortunately unhealthy choices are much cheaper options than healthy choices. That is a whole different topic. But yes, at the end of the day it is about choice. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
HB. I get that reasoning, but it's rooted in faulty thinking in two ways:
Firstly, the vaccinated carry the same viral load as the unvaccinated. With delta, it only takes one minute of exposure. So, even though the vaccinated carry it for less long, it doesn't really matter. Both the unvaccinated and vaccinated are spreading this thing really fast. Secondly, and this is the big one, if people don't want to get seriously sick, they get to make the choice as to whether or not they want the vaccine. If the vaccine is working as intended, they don't have to worry about the person next to them. Remember, it's not just the unvaccinated that are getting people sick. I think pro-vax persons seem to be struggling to make this adjustment. Let me show you how this plays out if everyone is vaxxed. Hospital visits and deaths drop, yet the virus continues to get passed around, because vaccinated individuals are still carrying a high viral load. However, you're still going to get breakthrough cases and people who are vaxxed are going to continue to die, because the vaccine doesn't actually grant you immunity. Every single risk that is currently present will continue to be present. The only case for mandatory vaccinations is that it will reduce the burden on our healthcare system. In this regard, why not use the same logic to control eating habits? We either have choice or we don't.
It is an interesting case, though. I wrote a long post about it, then I found out that somehow, this thread is not about McFlurry machines being broken, it's about vaccinations.
I'm just addressing reasoning, but you're right. We should stay on topic. I gave my two cents on this. I see no problems with the investigation.

Well anyway, if anyone wants to know what the McFlurry investigation is all about, here's a nice link:
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/mcdonalds-m...roken-ftc/ Interesting that in 2017, Taylor made $80 million repairing their own machines, no one else is allowed to repair them, and McDonalds franchisees have to buy them. What a racket. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
That's what I meant earlier when I said, how dumb is McDonalds. Think about the money they wasted by sticking with that company.

McDonald's doesn't actually sell the food, though, and they don't have to pay for the repairs to the machines. McDonalds' business model is to make money by leasing land to the franchisees. The franchisees have to buy the machines and pay to get them repaired. And even if they did have to pay for the repairs, $80 million is such a small amount of money to the McDonalds Corporation that it's not even equivalent to a rounding error. To me, it appears that the Taylor company has found this little niche, this little crack, and they've exploited it because it's not a big enough deal for anyone to do anything about it. Until, that is, some FTC employee gets tired of being told for the umpteenth time that he/she cannot have a McFlurry because the machine is broken. Don't mess with the deep state!

I’m sure dishing out money several times a year to have a machine repaired, again, is no small issue for a franchisee who relies on that machine to help their bottom line. However small the money seems in relation to a large corporation take, it’s still an $80M shakedown for business owners. We show less advertisements to registered users. My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.
I read where a different company invented a product that could be fitted to the machine that made cleaning easier and less breakdowns and McD’s made them all stop using it.
What in the Wide Wide World of Sports is agoin' on here???

Poor choice HB. #1 Obese people cause my insurance to go up. #2 Vaccinated people still spread the virus. |
