Flacco Traded Impact For Jags

#1

With Flacco's announced trade from the Eagles to the Jets, Minshew now moves into the primary backup QB role for the Eagles.  If Minshew plays 50% or greater in 3 or more games, then the conditional 6th round pick received by the Jags from the Eagles would become a 5th round pick.

I'd be keeping an eye on the eagles moves if I were in the Jags front office. They are in sell mode. May be a stop-gap player to be acquired there.

(on the other hand, I'm almost leaning toward letting this season just struggle on and reaping the resulting draft position reward)

The problem with that position is that we've wasted so many drafts and so much draft capital over the years, and this FO didn't show much last year, that I have little hope that we'll get anything more than another lousy Ramsey for Chaisson and ETN deal in the future.

Makes our game against the Jets tougher to win, IMHO

We don't play the Jets until Dec 26th. Wilson should be back by then.

I think the only way this impacts us at all is if Hurts gets injured.  There's no way they're going to pull Hurts as starter, even if he is sucking even worse.  They dumped Wentz for Hurts, so they're going to give him every opportunity.  Minshew ain't getting any meaningful playing time unless Jalen Hurts (get it...).
