Why haven't we heard of this? Because it goes against the narrative the government, the media, CDC, WHO and others have been pushing.

It was authored in October 2020 by the following:
-Dr. Martin Kulldorff, professor of medicine at Harvard University, a biostatistician, and epidemiologist with expertise in detecting and monitoring infectious disease outbreaks and vaccine safety evaluations.

-Dr. Sunetra Gupta, professor at Oxford University, an epidemiologist with expertise in immunology, vaccine development, and mathematical modeling of infectious diseases.

-Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, professor at Stanford University Medical School, a physician, epidemiologist, health economist, and public health policy expert focusing on infectious diseases and vulnerable populations.

And was co-signed by a long list of Medical and Public Health Scientists and Medical Practitioners. Here is part of the Declaration. 

The Great Barrington Declaration – As infectious disease epidemiologists and public health scientists we have grave concerns about the damaging physical and mental health impacts of the prevailing COVID-19 policies, and recommend an approach we call Focused Protection.

Coming from both the left and right, and around the world, we have devoted our careers to protecting people. Current lockdown policies are producing devastating effects on short and long-term public health. The results (to name a few) include lower childhood vaccination rates, worsening cardiovascular disease outcomes, fewer cancer screenings and deteriorating mental health – leading to greater excess mortality in years to come, with the working class and younger members of society carrying the heaviest burden. Keeping students out of school is a grave injustice......


This just seven months into the pandemic. Here we are nearly two years into it and no one of consequence has done anything close to this besides Gov. DeSantis in FL which brings up an article I saw here titled Inside Florida, the state that forgot COVID-19 is a national emergency. This is where I saw the reference to the Great Barrington Declaration and had no clue what it was so I looked it up. It's a damn shame what the government and the CDC has allowed to happen. All they had to do was listen to common sense from people who had no skin in the game (FAUCI) and actually knew what they were talking about.

I thought Bill Hanage's response was appropriate, "After pointing out, correctly, the indirect damage caused by the pandemic, they respond that the answer is to increase the direct damage caused by it."

I think their approach is an alternative but not better.

I think more people had been exposed to it by March 2020 than we realize. I am 99.999% my mom had it in Jan/Feb but we wouldn't realize it until Mar/Apr when symptoms were being listed by the CDC. There are at least two others in my church who we are certain also had it around that same timeframe but again we didn't realize it until a few months later. By the time antibody testing was available no one thought it would matter because so much time had passed. 

Just because things seem unlikely doesn't mean they aren't true. At one point everyone thought this virus was a bonafide death sentence for the majority and that is certainly not the case. No one thought a vaccine could be rolled out in less than a year.
