Also, given the Rooney's long standing history of being patient with above average to excellent coaching he's yet to have a slump like Chuck and Bill did before he was their third coach hired since 1969. 

They'll have to replace an oft injured and beat up Roethlisberger who was on the decline now over the last three years due to those injuries and age. However, the Rooney's will more than likely figure that out within the next two years. I could see them honestly making a move to gain Minshew off Philadelphia's hands via trade.

Or, and I wouldn't put it past them to do this. But, if they end up really, really liking Pickett out of Pittsburgh during the combine and draft process? They might come up and get him and try to start him right away like they did with Roethlisberger. Given how competitive that division is right now with Burrow, Jackson and Mayfield they probably don't want to wait around to develop a QB like they did with Rudolph as Rudolph has not really worked out for them.
