I feel better about our coaching prospects if we've narrowed it down to Leftwich, Hackett, and Eberflus. My default position would be to lean towards someone with head coaching experience and success (like a Pederson or Caldwell) as I think there is some unquantifiable quality needed to be head coach. And it's easier to spot when you've seen someone do it. But I've read good things about all three of our top candidates in terms of leadership and coaching ability. Without gaining more insight into their personalities, I don't know that I can pick a favorite. Feels like a total coin flip in terms of who would succeed and who wouldn't. I don't think looking at anyone's offensive or defensive yardage rankings is very meaningful to be honest.
But again all three are said to have the qualities need to be head coach with no obvious red flags. And I get the impression that the odds of keeping Baalke around would be lessened if any of the three are chosen. ________________________________________________ Scouting well is all that matters. Draft philosophy is all fluff. |
