Sounds like he can't take his own advice. Because, he's yet to find both qualities in any hires he's ever made. It's cost him opportunities.

Think about it. In 2016. After Bradley was fired. He doubles down with Caldwell and Marrone. He lost out on Sean McDermott, Sean McVay and Kyle Shanahan.

After 5-11 and 6-10 with Marrone. In 2019. He could have had Zac Taylor, Bruce Arians or Brian Flores.

He cannot take his own advice. He cannot get out of his own way. Bradley was likeable. Marrone was likeable. Caldwell was likeable. However, it took for the arrival of a hard nosed and rigid old Coughlin to come in for one year to culture shock the place.

It took one year to get them back to winning. Then, in classic Tom fashion. He blunders the personnel with head scratching extensions and the roster imploded. Because he's a coach. Not an EVP. Not a General Manager.

Khan had to get it right this year. I don't see it. I really think after he blunders it all with Lawrence that he'll hit rock bottom, hopefully experience a massive ego death and then just hire a legitimate President to run the team for the better.
