As I have said, this team will not EVER be a real contender until Mr. Khan builds a solid football organization. Hiring a solid GM is certainly a positive step. But, not sure he understands this. He should have canned  Baalke when he let Meyer go. Pretty much the entire NFL came out against Baalke and stated that the Jags would not be able to attract top coaching prospects with Baalke in place. I am not convinced that Mr. Khan understands this. If he finds the right GM, then he and Mr. Khan need to discuss Head Coaches immediately. Then when this team is in place, he needs to stay out of the day to day and let them do their job, which includes:
Overhauling the entire coaching team; Overhauling the personnel department; building a solid talent network so they can pick up talent OUTSIDE OF THE DRAFT!!! Most of you think that winning teams depend on the draft.  The draft is a tool and not a primary tool. If you are going to have brain surgery do you pick a surgeon who just graduated? Most of us would go for proven experience. The draft is overrated. IMO, winning teams have selectively picked up talent through trades and acquisitions and have been more successful. Tampa Bay was once as bad as the Jags but they rebuilt NOT through the draft but through acquiring talented, seasoned NFL players. This has been repeated by other teams as well. Now remember I did not say to ignore the draft or the draft is not important. The NFL draft is simply one method to find and develop talent, and as we know too well, Jags have been HORRIBLE at selecting and developing talent for the past decade!! So what do you ask has been the Jags biggest asset?? The fans!! My 30 year old son is a DIE hard fan and many on this blog are as well. Our fans are awesome! God bless you.
