I opined earlier that after the last debacle, Shad is just trying hard to get it right this time for the fanbase. He's weighing all options even at the risk of losing one or two candidates due to the delay.
Realistically, I think he targets O'Connell after the Super Bowl, with the chief competition being the Dolphins. Sounds like O'Connell really wants to work with Trevor. I don't think an extra couple weeks hurts too much in the grand scheme of things if it pays off.
That's looking at the picture realistically. From my heart, I think taking a chance on Bevell would ultimately be the most rewarding for all involved.
