I just said it's different.
We should be aware of the difference. We should be aware that the number of pedophiles out there is greater than the number of abused kids. It's a bigger problem than most realize.
 You’re a lost cause.

Part of the tweet also says that not all people that abuse kids are pedophiles.  Do you agree with that?

I actually didn't understand that part.  Sexual abuse that isn't sexual? I don't know what they mean.  But I did understand the first part.

There's other kinds of abuse that aren't sexual in nature. That seems to be what they are saying.

Well, "progressives" do say they want to empty the prisons.

USA Today is CNN's print cousin. They've gone so far left that if it weren't for airports and hotels handing out their garbage for free, they would be defunct.

I don't think they are defending pedophilia, I think they are just defining it, and distinguishing "pedophile" from "child molester."

Like, those two terms overlap, but they are not exactly the same thing.

Google this: "are all child molesters pedophiles."  And you will get some explanations.  For example: https://www.abusewatch.net/res_pedo.php

No, it doesn't seem to say that at all.

It specifically says some people who sexually abuse kids aren't pedophiles.

The link is very informative.
The estimates are that 20-25% of men will have a physical response to images or videos of child sexual abuse.  These are men who are not pedophiles, but are vulnerable to being converted into pedophilia.  This is why it is so important to try to eradicate the distribution of this content.

If you have sex with a child because it turns you on, because you want to hurt their parent, or because they’re the only thing around when you feel the mood to bang one out…you are a piece of [BLEEP] and need to be eliminated from existence. I don’t care what label you decide to put on it.

I'm sure we can all agree with that.

I have a now ex-friend that was convicted of having Kiddy Porn on his computer about 7 years ago, he did 5 years in prison for it. I should have just left him to his own devices then and there but, we've been though a lot in our over 45 years of friendship so I overlooked it. Now how ever, he's facing 3 counts of having sex with underage girls, I can't over look it anymore. It seems to be a pattern with him...... He did 12 years in Arkansas for sex with an underage girl which I just found out about while researching these current charges against him. He is a registrered sex offender in both Arkansas and Maryland, I will not have that kind of reputation follow me around through association with him. Yeah, we've been though hell and high water together but..... I will not want to be around when some father/uncle/brother/cousin comes looking for him with a gun because he banged some other underage girl. He is currently sitting in jail awaiting trial on these current charges. He's tried writing me and I did not answer. He's tried calling me, and I blocked all numbers associated with the County Lock up. Look, I know we all have our personal demons, but banging undergae girls when you're 57/58 years old, I can not and will not tolerate that.

That’s a valid point and a distinction I could see being parsed for the sake of academia. But it sure seems to be an odd lede for a news outlet to address. When kids are victimized, the public at large neither cares, nor should they care, about the motivation of the miscreant.

I'm really sorry for your loss.  The guy I know was not very close to me.  I can't imagine the sting of losing a guy who's been with you since you were young.

I should add that the age of consent here in Maryland is 16, that means he was banging girls 15 and younger. I have no idea why he had to do this because he had a live in GF at the time all this was going on. The same when he was in Arkansas, he was living with a girl and her kids yet, he still found he needed to bang some underaged girls there. It's a damn wonder he hasn't been shot yet by some mad father. He's lost quite a few friends over this and he has only himself to blame. ALl of us that knew him agree that we doubt that he'll ever be a free man again with his track record. Between that and him being treated for prostate cancer right now, well, seeing the light of day as a free man ever agin seems like a long shot at best........

Doesn't sound like they're defending pedophilia, sounds like they're trying to split hairs. Like is a psychopath a murderer if he never commits a murder? Knee jerk reactions aside, it's a nuance but it's a really odd one to comment on. Not sure what point they were trying to make.

Boiling a frog perhaps?  There is a rather high profile sex trafficking case going on that amazingly has been pushed to the back page.  One can only guess what Maxwell will reveal now that she has been convicted.

Boiling a frog, indeed. If you guys only knew how much pedophilia plays a role in the history of the progressive movement. I'm not talking about some crazy Alex Jones type of conspiracy. I'm talking about literal open admissions from the philosophers that were influencers in the movement. It should go without saying that all progressives are not pedophiles, nor do most of them support it, The point is that there is room for that kind of ideology within its foundation.

This narrative and similar sympathetic articles have been seeing more and more daylight over the last few years. It's pretty disturbing. Even more so now than ever being a father of an almost two year old boy and having three nieces all younger than him. I have been keeping my head on a swivel.

I didn't realize how bad it was until recently and it bothered the [BLEEP] out of me. We actually went down to Disney as a family a few weeks before Christmas and they had a parade. A lot of young kids out there parading around. I noticed a creepy old man sitting down just staring some of those girls up and down with that "look" on his face. If you're a man, you know exactly what I am talking about.

It's one thing to have your eyes caught by a grown woman. Lady in red, big butt in a pair of jeans, busty set in a summer dress, etc. Whatever. But, getting your kicks by looking at kids probably barely in middle school parading around? Come on man....

[BLEEP] disgusting. It's rampant online too. There was a guy I was following for a few years. Mouthy Buddha. He's been taken out of commission by YouTube. However, he was showing the public how specific words and search engines could be utilized to find exactly what you were looking for if you were in that community. It was alarming. It circled back to Hollywood as well. Not to go too far down the rabbit hole but it ultimately involved a well known and beloved actor in Hollywood, top shelf actor, you all know him, and it all involved Epstein and that island of his.

Man, I am telling you. It's bad. And, I am sorry. I have no sympathy for people that have this fantasy or kink. It's disgusting. Get some help.

Did that "well known and beloved actor" recently change his residence to the country of Greece? "That's all I have to say bout that"

Oh fresh hell I hope not. I may not agree with his politics but I've always like him as an actor.
