If the team had a pass rush thar would of been a win.

Quote:I dunno man, Rodgers plays in a division that had good defenses in recent years and GB still owned that division

And that needs to be considered. Yeah the pass rush is a concern. But we held Aaron Freaking Rodgers to under 200 yards passing.

Last year he would have had 400+

We lost because we stalled on offense and bad calls by the refs.. which made us stall on offense.
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS

Quote:I know Fowler didn't do diddly squat today but to say he isn't a core player after his first NFL game is just crazy.

I said it before he was even drafted. It's not based on one game. I hope I am wrong.

It was his first NFL though.

Hes a DPR you don't build defenses around DPR's. He can be a huge asset but it has to be schemed right hell never be a guy that lines up amd just wins one on one.

This.

He was a great college player, but he couldn't just line up and win one on ones even in college.

It really was Fowlers first game lol. This man has been called the future of our pass rush to just a DPR. Can we give him a few games, at least the whole year before we determine if he's any good?

I think we have to make a trade for someone this year. I'd be fully willing to trade a 3rd and a player for a half decent pass rusher.

Yeah, the uneven officiating was the difference. Handed green bay a TD before the half with a PI that never happened and repeatedly failed to call Arob being absolutely mugged. Difference in the game. Packers were scheduled to win.

I don't think it matters who we sign. I starting to think it's not the personnel, as much as the system. The Falcons run the same type of offense we do and they are struggling in the pass rush too. Even the Seahawks aren't what they once were. If we can't get something started soon, it may be time to scrap the defensive scheme and go with something more conventional.

Greg Hardy? LOL. Yeah, let's sign the guy that wasn't very good last year. Let's sign the guy no one wants. At this point in his career, you'd be taking Yannick and DF off the field for a guy that might get 5 sacks all year. You really need to stop attending those GM classes Gene Smith is teaching.  Wallbash

Quote:There was some pressure but Rodgers is great at escaping and moving within the pocket.

It'll be interesting to see next week versus Rivers since he isnt any where near Rodgers in terms of mobility.
I will give the pack credit as their o-line did an excellent job of protecting Rodgers; even when we did get some penetration, Rodgers moved well and stayed in the pocket for the most part. Nevertheless, we didn't get much of a pass rush going at all from our much regarded defensive front.

Pass rush wasnt great but the packers have a good ol and Rodgers has a habit of extending plays and buying time to make anyone's pass rush look a little lackluster. It's 1 game. Let's not worry yet.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Ramsey got 1 hand on Rodgers on that corner blitz, but it wasn't enough.. he still threw a TD with Ramsey handing all over him...
