TheO-LineMatters 7 round Mock Draft

#1
(This post was last modified: 04-27-2022, 06:03 PM by TheO-LineMatters. Edited 2 times in total.)

I don't do trades. They are just too hard to predict.

Round 1

1. Jacksonville- Aiden Hutchinson, DE/OLB, Michigan
This should be a gimme. Hutchinson dominated many of the top OT’s in this draft. Pairing Hutchinson opposite Josh Allen should give Jacksonville the steady pass rush they haven’t had since 2019 when they had Allen and Ngakoue on the edges. He is simply the safest pick in the draft. He is a mixture of Ryan Kerrigan and Jared Allen. If the Jaguars stay at #1 and don’t trade out, Hutchinson should be a shoe-in for the #1 pick.

2. Detroit- Travon Walker, DE, Georgia
As a team, the Lions ranked 30th in the NFL in sacks. Hutchinson would’ve been the Lions top choice here, but with him off the board, they look to their second option. They are switching back to a 4-3 scheme and a player like Walker who was a 3-4 DE in college would be a perfect fit. He was asked to be more of a run stuffer in college, but flashed quite a bit as a pass rusher and athletically tested off the charts. If allowed to be set free and rush the passer off the edge in a 4-3 scheme like the Lions, the sky is the limit for this kid.

3. Houston- Kayvon Thibadeaux, DE/OLB, Oregon
Houston is in a complete re-build, so they will likely be looking to take the BAP. Thibodeaux is athletically gifted and extremely productive. This is simply the Texans taking what they see as the BAP, as they have needs everywhere, both on offense and defense. There are some concerns about his attitude and motor, but the talent is certainly there and he would represent a huge upgrade in the pass rush. That has been a big need ever since J.J. Watt left.

4. New York Jets- Ahmad Gardner, CB, Cincinnati
The Jets have a lot of needs and should take the BAP. Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner is the best pure cover corner of the last several years. He has ideal size, technique and good speed. This kid is a star in the making and should be in the discussion for defensive R.O.Y. He is my #2 overall prospect and is far and away the best player on the board when the Jets make their selection. The Jets would also like a premier WR, but will still be able to get one of the top players with their #10 overall pick that they acquired from Seattle.

5. New York Giants- Ikem Ekwonu, OT, North Carolina State
The Giants O-Line has been a mess. Andrew Thomas made huge strides this past season and finally is starting to look like a franchise LT, after a rough start to his NFL career. Unfortunately, the rest of the O-Line was putrid, especially RT. Ekwonu is a natural OT who projects highly to OG as well. Adding Ekwonu would allow them to have a pair of bookend Tackles for the next few years.

6. Carolina- Kenny Pickett, QB, Pitt
Many people are predicting the Panthers to take a left tackle here, but instead they address what I consider to be their top need, QB. Sam Darnold simply is not an NFL starting QB. If Carolina wants to take the next step, they must address the QB position. Pickett is the best pure passer in this very weak QB class. He is a natural thrower with good accuracy, instincts and decent mobility. He may not be a sure-fire franchise NFL QB, but he’s the closest thing they’ll find this year.

7. New York Giants (Via Chi)- Jermaine Johnson, DE/OLB, Florida State
The Giants need a lot of work across the board and with this selection they look to find a premier edge pass rusher. Jermaine Johnson had 12 sacks and 18 TFL for Florida State last season and represents the best available player for the Giants. He had a huge Senior Bowl week dominating opposing O-Linemen and his stock has gone way up. I could see him reaching double digit sack totals his rookie season and being in contention for defensive R.O.Y.

8. Atlanta- Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State
The Falcons are a mess now look to journeyman QB Marcus Mariota to lead them in 2022. Right now though, he has no WR’s to throw to after Calvin Ridley has been suspended indefinitely for gambling on the NFL. They must find a #1 receiving option and have their pick of the top WR’s. Garrett Wilson had an outstanding season for the Buckeyes while playing with two other elite receivers. He is a very good route runner with big play ability and very good hands. The Falcons could certainly use the kind of deep speed he shows.

9. Seattle (Via Den)- Evan Neal, OT, Alabama
Seattle acquired this pick when they traded away Russell Wilson. Seattle could go QB here, but their O-Line is in shambles. They desperately need to protect who ever they have lining up at QB and with a premier OT on the board like Evan Neal, they cannot pass him up. Neal is a huge, mountain of a man with pretty decent athletic ability who could play either OT position or even kick inside to OG, if needed and should help finally stabilize the Seahawks O-Line.

10. New York Jets (Via Sea)- Jameson Williams, WR, Alabama
This is where I would see the Jets taking a WR. After failing to acquire Tyreek Hill, the Jets find their #1 target for Zach Wilson. Jameson Williams could miss the start of the season due to an ACL tear, but when he is healthy, he can be an elite NFL WR who makes big plays on a consistent basis. He may not make much impact in 2022 due to injury, but this is a pick for the future. He looks to be an elite #1 receiver for the Jets in the near future. Had he not gotten hurt, I could easily see him being taken in the top 5 selections.

11. Washington- Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame
I believe Washington will give Carson Wentz this season to prove himself before deciding what to do at the QB position. With QB no longer in play, they decide to take the BAP and seeing a difference maker like Kyle Hamilton falling to them, they pull the trigger. He is a ballhawk with elite coverage skills and isn’t afraid to get in and finish off ball carriers as well. He reminds me a lot of Minkah Fitzpatrick. He should go higher, but due to the amount of teams ahead of them with other needs, he slides to the Commanders.

12. Minnesota- Derek Stingley Jr., CB, LSU
Defensively, the Vikings were very inconsistent. They desperately want a CB and are relieved that a CB of Derek Stingley’s skill level is available. Stingley has very good coverage skills, but has struggled with injuries and inconsistency after a near flawless 2019 campaign. The talent is there, but the question is whether he can stay healthy. If he can, he’ll be a steal. He put a lot of those questions to rest when he had a very good pro day recently.

13. Houston (Via Cleve)- Charles Cross, OT, Mississippi State
Houston acquired this pick when they traded Deshaun Watson to the Browns. They addressed pass rusher with their first selection and now they can address the O-Line. Charles Cross is the most experienced pass protector in this draft and shows very good feet and mirroring skills. He needs a bit of work in his run blocking, but that should come along in time. Pairing him with LT Laremy Tunsil should give the Texans a very nice Tackle duo for the immediate future.

14. Baltimore- Tyler Linderbaum, C/OG, Iowa
The Ravens ranked 31st in the NFL in sacks allowed. They must address the O-Line, if they want to get back into the playoffs. Tyler Linderbaum is one of the best Centers to enter the draft of the last few years and I believe he is the best offensive lineman in this entire draft. He could help solidify the Ravens interior O-Line, which lost starting Center Bradley Bozeman to free agency. His addition should certainly make an impact on the run game as well.

15. Philadelphia (Via Miami)- Drake London, WR, USC
Philadelphia could go anywhere with their three first round picks, but seeing a WR with elite speed still on the board makes this choice very easy. London might not have elite speed, but he makes up for it with elite route running skills and excellent hands and body control. He was on pace for Ja’Marr Chase like season, before fracturing his ankle. I believe he can be an elite WR in the right system. Playing opposite DaVonta Smith should give the Eagles a dangerous WR tandem.

16. New Orleans (Via Phil Via Ind)- Malik Willis, QB, Liberty
This pick was acquired in a trade with the Eagles and it appears as though the Saints want to make sure they get a QB for the future. Malik Willis is a mobile, athletic QB. He is very raw as a passer, but his athleticism might have some people comparing him to Michael Vick, who was also very raw coming into the league. What he lacks in passing, he makes up for with his running ability and he’s gonna need that until he is able to develop as a passer. I could see him sitting behind Jameis Winston for this season, before starting in 2023.

17. L.A. Chargers- Jordan Davis, NT, Georgia
The Chargers ranked 30th in run defense last season and could use a big, run stuffing DT who can command double teams in the middle of the line of scrimmage. Jordan Davis is huge and although he may not be much of a pass rushing threat, he dominates in run defense and commands constant double teams which could allow mismatches. He could be just what the Chargers need.

18. Philadelphia (Via NO)- George Karlaftis, DE, Purdue
After filling needs at the WR position, the Eagles now look to give the defense more fire-power by adding an elite pass rusher. George Karlaftis is a perfect example of what the Eagles look for. He is a big man and although he didn’t get the sack numbers he was hoping for, he did have an impressive 54 QB pressures on the season, which were among the tops in college football. I could see him assuming a starting role right away.

19. New Orleans (Via Phil)- Trevor Penning, OT, Northern Iowa
Here is where the Saints find a replacement for longtime Left Tackle Terron Armstead. Trevor Penning is a small school OT that dominated opposing competition and showed out at the Senior Bowl against better competition. He is one of the fastest risers in the draft and showed a “nasty” streak at the Senior Bowl that got a lot of attention from many NFL coaches. He may have to be reigned in on occasion, but shows the natural ability to be a dominant player on the next level. He and Ryan Ramczyk should become a very good OT duo.

20. Pittsburgh- Desmond Ridder, QB, Cincinnati
With Ben Roethlisberger retiring and none of the Steelers’ backup QB’s stepping up to take over, I believe they will be in desperation mode for a new QB. Desmond Ridder may be a bit inconsistent, but he is very intelligent, mature and has deceptive playmaking ability with his feet. This is one of those boom or bust selections, but with the signing of Mitchell Trubisky, the Steelers wouldn’t have to rush Ridder along too fast, which should allow him a better chance to succeed in the NFL.

21. New England- Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State
I know the Pats traded for DeVante Parker, but they still need a field stretching WR for the offense and Chris Olave represents the BAP as well. He may have been the third leading receiver on the Buckeyes, but he is an elite pass catcher with excellent hands, body control and speed to make big plays. He could end up being the top WR from this draft class when we look back in 10 years. Pairing him with Parker should give the Patriots an explosive offense.

22. Green Bay (Via LV)- Devin Lloyd, ILB, Utah
The Packers will probably want to go WR here after trading Davante Adams to Las Vegas, but seeing a player the caliber of Devin Lloyd fall to this point is just too much temptation, so they pull the trigger. Lloyd is a “do it all” type of linebacker who fits any scheme. He is an excellent tackler who excels against the run, is an effective pass rusher and shows the pass coverage ability like a DB. His impact on the defense could be priceless.

23. Arizona- Jahan Dotson, WR, Penn State
When DeAndre Hopkins was injured, the Cards struggled to find a passing attack. Slot receiver Christian Kirk left via free agency and the team needs to find an explosive receiver as his replacement. Jahan Dotson shows speed, soft hands and is one of the best route runners in the draft. He is a little on the smallish side, but he flashes memories of Marvin Harrison in his play. Dotson is a speedy WR who performed well against very good college competition and rang up 91 catches and almost 1,200 yards last season.

24. Dallas- Kenyon Green, OG/OT, Texas A&M
Dallas decided to release starting RT La’el Collins and lost OG Connor Williams to free agency, so the O-Line has to be a priority in the draft. Kenyon Green has experience at OT and OG, but has played at an elite level since moving inside. Given the overall need for a RT, I could see them trying him out there, before ultimately finding his permanent position.

25. Buffalo- Trent McDuffie, CB, Washington
Without any glaring needs, the Bills have the ability to take the BAP. This is a luxury pick for the Bills, but they also get a player who although unheralded, was among the best at his position in all of college football. Trent McDuffie may not have ideal length, but he is fast, aggressive and mirrors WR’s step for step. He only allowed 16 receptions on the season and should be an immediate starter for an already loaded, Buffalo Bills defense.

26. Tennessee- Bernhard Raimann, OT, Central Michigan
The Titans need some new blood on the O-Line, especially at RT where they have had all kinds of issues since Isaiah Wilson turned out to be a complete bust. Bernhard Raimann hasn’t been playing football that long since coming to America as an exchange student in high school. He is a former TE who made the move to LT. He shows excellent footwork and the ability to mirror defenders.

27. Tampa Bay- Devonte Wyatt, DE/DT, Georgia
The Bucs could go a number of ways here, but replacing some of their older players could be a priority. Ndamukong Suh is 35 years old and it may be time to draft his heir. Devonte Wyatt is one of the fastest rising defensive players in the draft after playing brilliantly in the college playoffs. He is an excellent run defender off the edge and shows burst as a pass rusher and he tested off the charts at the Combine. He should be a perfect fit in Tampa Bay

28. Green Bay- Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas
The Packers acquired this pick via the Davante Adams trade. With Adams and Marques Valdez-Scantling gone, Green Bay now lacks talent in the WR unit. Treylon Burks is a big bodied WR with soft hands and good route running ability. He doesn’t have elite speed, but he is still able to get separation and make big plays from time to time. He’s no Davante Adams, but in time I could see him making a major contribution to the Packers passing attack.

29. Kansas City (Via Mia Via SF)- Boye Mafe, DE, Minnesota
Kansas City was 29th in the NFL in sacks and 9 of their 31 came from DT Chris Jones. They must get more pressure off the edge. Boye Mafe really made a name for himself at the Senior Bowl, where he looked unblockable at times. At 6’4” 261 lbs and 4.53/40 speed, on paper, he looks the part of a franchise edge rusher. If the athleticism translates on the field, he could be a very good NFL DE.

30. Kansas City- Christian Watson, WR, North Dakota State
The Chiefs need to find some speed in the WR unit after trading away Tyreek Hill and may be willing to take a bit of a risk here. Watson is a big WR with big play ability who tested extremely well at the combine, flashing track like speed. He does have questions regarding his level of competition though and some key drops that sent up some red flags. With that said, I believe the Chiefs will believe he can fill the void left by Hill and make him the pick.

31. Cincinnati- Andrew Booth Jr., CB, Clemson
The Bengals would like to find a LT prospect here, so they can move Jonah Williams inside to LG, but with the top LT’s now gone, they address another need at CB. Andrew Booth is a ballhawk who was a lockdown CB for the Tigers. He was unable to fully workout before the draft due to a sports hernia injury, but should be ready by the start of training camp. He should immediately fill one of the Bengals’ starting CB positions.

32. Detroit (Via L.A. Rams)- Dax Hill, S, Michigan
The Lions could go for a QB or a Safety here, but they have another early pick in round two and don't want to miss out on the chance to get their choice of the second best Safety in the draft. Safety is a huge need for the Lions and Hill shows a skill set where he can also be used as a nickel in coverage. His versatility would really help Detroit's secondary.

Round 2

34. Detroit- Nakobe Dean, LB, Georgia

You're probably right. I just figured if we aren't gonna trade up for one of the top receivers, stay the course by taking the BAP in each round and select a couple speedy, outside receivers on the 3rd day of the draft. I added Charleston Rambo in there, because I really like him and thought he was the best pick at the time as well. He may not have blazing speed like Tyquan Thornton or Velus Jones Jr., but he reminds me a lot of Keenan Allen.

Round 1

While Hutchinson would not be my ideal #1 overall, he would be better than Walker, I think.  Give me production over potential.

Watt left.   ai would hate for Houston to land this guy,  They have gone from Mario Williams to J.J. Watt to Jadeveon Clowney.  For once I would like for them to NOT have a DE capable of terrorizing our QBs.

I have been thinking about this pick for a while.  He would be the perfect CB for that scheme.

This is the kind of QB reach that could get coaches and GMs fired.  The rumors now, FWIW, is they they may bring in Baker Mayfield.

8. Atlanta- Drake London, WR, USC
London might not have elite speed, but he makes up for it with elite route running skills and excellent hands and body control. He was on pace for Ja’Marr Chase like season, before fracturing his ankle. I believe he can be an elite WR in the right system.   Atlanta is welcome to have him.  I think his positive impact for the Falcons will be minimal.  If I'm wrong...he's out of the conference.

I would rather he stabilize our offensive line.

Right now I envy the way the Jets have built around Wilson, and seem to have done a better job building around him than we have around Trevor Lawrence, with the exception of Pederson.  Even though Williams may not be able to play until October at the earliest, once he gets to full health, he would be an awesome fit.  The only other thing that would give me pause about these two picks for them is whether the Jets can keep Becton in shape.

A good football player.  I don't think he'll be Sean Taylor for them, but a solid pick.

Too bad for them they released the CB they drafted out of TCU a while back, since he was cleared for those battery charges.

Your last sentence says it all.  Thibs and Cross would be a great start for them....thus I don't want to see it happen.

IIRC, Baltimore gave up so many sacks because they lost their tackles.  Still, adding Linderbaum would be yet abother good pick by a strong organization.

15. Philadelphia (Via Miami)- Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State
Philadelphia could go anywhere with their three first round picks, but seeing a WR with elite speed still on the board makes this choice very easy. Garrett Wilson had an outstanding season for the Buckeyes while playing with two other elite receivers. He is a very good route runner with big play ability and very good hands. They could certainly use the kind of deep speed he shows. He should be the receiver Philly thought they were getting when they drafted Jalen Reagor.  Cab;t say they aren't trying to help their QB.

Seems almost too perfect a fit for them, though I'm not sure f they should take him over a RT like Penning.

20. Pittsburgh- Matt Corral, QB, Mississippi
With Ben Roethlisberger retiring and none of the Steelers’ backup QB’s stepping up to take over, I believe they will be in desperation mode for a new QB. Matt Corral is smallish, but has a big arm and playmaking ability with his feet. This is one of those boom or bust selections, but with the signing of Mitchell Trubisky, the Steelers wouldn’t have to rush Corral along too fast, which should allow him a better chance to succeed in the NFL.

If New Enlgand ends up with Olave, it'll be one of the few times they actually got a WR draft pick right under Belichick.

This pick would make a ton of sense for them, asuming they don't trade Kyler away.

One of my favorite players in this draft.  I would hate for Buffahole to get him.  Sadly for me, they have an outstanding front office, so I could easily see this happening.

Though I am bracing myself to the idea we may no take a WR by round 2, I would be very disappointed if he were not on the board when we pick.

29. Kansas City (Via Mia Via SF)- Nakobe Dean, LB, Georgia
The Chiefs need to find some speed in the WR unit after trading away Tyreek Hill, but with the top receivers off the board, they look to upgrade the defense. Nakobe Dean is not a big linebacker, but he is instinctive and athletic and he’s known for making big plays. He is great at stuffing ball carriers, rushing the passer and plays in pass coverage like a Safety. He projects best in a 4-3 scheme like the Chiefs run, where he can play sideline to sideline as a MLB.

30. Kansas City- Boye Mafe, DE, Minnesota
Both of these guys would be good picks for KC, especially given how the draft unfolded above.  Still, looking at that, I have the nagging sense the Chiefs would have been better served with an upgrade at CB.  Gabriel Davis absolutely embarrassed them in the playoffs.

Rams)- Desmond Ridder, QB, Cincinnati
The Lions could go for a QB or a Safety here, but they have another early pick in round two and at this point they might take into consideration the 5th year option on a QB. Desmond Ridder is a late rising player that could eventually be the Lions franchise QB. He shows a pretty good arm, decent mobility and sound pocket presence. He is raw at this stage in his career, but would probably be sitting behind Jared Goff for a year or two before assuming the starting role.

Round 2

33. Jacksonville- Zion Johnson, OG/C, Boston College I would be quite happy with this pick at this point in the draft.
34. Detroit- Lewis Cine, S, Georgia
35. New York Jets- Arnold Ebiketie, DE, Penn State
36. New York Giants- Tre McBride, TE, Colorado State-This wuld hurt, as I think he'd be perfect in our offense.  I'm also not sure how important TE is in Daboll's offense, and my gut tells me they might be better off addressing OL again.
37. Houston- Breece Hall, RB, Iowa State
38. New York Jets (Via Car)- Tyler Smith, OT, Tulsa
39. Chicago- Christian Watson, WR, North Dakota State
Assuming these two guys get good coaching, they could be great picks.  These are two guys I wouldn't mind with the Jaguars.
40. Seattle (Via Den)- Quay Walker, LB, Georgia
41. Seattle- Sam Howell, QB, North Carolina
42. Indianapolis (Via Wash)- Skyy Moore, WR, Western Michigan
43. Atlanta- Kingsley Enagbare, DE/OLB, South Carolina
44. Cleveland- DeMarvin Leal, DT, Texas A&M
45. Baltimore- David Ojabo, DE/OLB, Michigan-Mixed feelings on this pick.  If there is a front office and team that could afford a defensive redshirt at edge rusher, it's the Ravens.  However, given the arms race that has transpired in the AFC and the Ravens being close to the playpffs last year, I'd have to believe they would want a more immediate impact player...not a guy who is likely to miss the year with the achilles tear suggered last month.
46. Minnesota- Daxton Hill, S, Michigan-Stingley and hills would be a great way to build a great secondary.
47. Washington (Via Ind)- Kyler Gordon, CB, Washington
48. Chicago (Via L.A.C)- Nik Bonitto, OLB, Oklahoma
49. New Orleans- Kaiir Elam, CB, Florida
50. Kansas City (Via Mia)- George Pickens, WR, Georgia
51. Philadelphia- Perrion Winfrey, DT, Oklahoma-I would think they'd need an OT somehwere, but Winfrey would be an outstanding pick for them.
52. Pittsburgh- Travis Jones, NT, UConn.
53. Green Bay (Via LV)- David Bell, WR, Purdue-Very good fit here.
54. New England- Roger McCreary, CB, Auburn-I would certainly defer to Belichick here, but I'm not crazy about Auburn CBs.
55. Arizona- Cameron Thomas, DE/OLB, SDSU
56. Dallas- Jaquan Brisker, S, Penn State
57. Buffalo- Kenneth Walker, RB, Michigan State
58. Atlanta (Via Tenn)- Darian Kinnard, OT, Kentucky
59. Green Bay- Logan Hall, DE, Houston
60. Tampa Bay- Sam Williams, DE/OLB, Mississippi-Another mixed feelings pick.  I like the player, but considering the Bucs just took the Washington edge rusher last year, not sure if this is the direction they go.
61. San Francisco- Jalen Pitre, S, Baylor
62. Kansas City- Alec Pierce, WR, Cincinnati
63. Cincinnati- Greg Dulcich, TE, UCLA
64. Denver (Via L.A.R)- Drake Jackson, DE/OLB, USC

Round 3

65. Jacksonville- Troy Andersen, ILB, Montana State -I would prefer Muma or Christian Harris here, but not a bad pick given the team needs.
66. Detroit- John Metchie, WR, Alabama
67. New York Giants- Jamaree Salyer, OG/OT, Georgia
68. Houston- Wan’Dale Robinson, WR, Kentucky
69. New York Jets- Chad Muma, LB, Wyoming
70. Jacksonville (Via Car)- Jelani Woods, TE, Virginia-Big big target who seens to lumber on the field but ran well.  Soft hands and seems to be a great red zone target and good fit as the true Y in Pederson's offense.
71. Chicago- Nicholas Petit-Frere, OT, Ohio State
72. Seattle- Isaiah Spiller, RB, Texas A&M
73. Indianapolis (Via Wash)- Sean Rhyan, OT, UCLA
74. Atlanta- Khalil Shakir, WR, Boise State
75. Denver- Abraham Lucas, OT, Washington State
76. Baltimore- Coby Bryant, CB, Cincinnati
77. Minnesota- Dylan Parham, OG/C, Memphis-This is a guy that's been linked to us lately.  I would like to get a look at him.
78. Cleveland- Christian Harris, LB, Alabama
79. L.A. Chargers- Luke Goedke, OT, Central Michigan
80. Houston (Via NO)- Tariq Woolen, CB, UTSA
81. New York Giants (via Mia)- Kyren Williams, RB, Notre Dame
82. Atlanta (Via Ind)- Carson Strong, QB, Nevada
83. Philadelphia- Zach Tom, C/OT, Wake Forest
84. Pittsburgh- Alec Lindstrom, C/OG, Boston College
85. New England- Cam Jurgens, C/OG, Nebraska
86. Las Vegas- Daniel Faalele, OT, Minnesota-Better them than us.  I want nothing whatsoever to do with this player.
87. Arizona- Marcus Jones, CB, Houston

88. Dallas- Brian Asamoah, LB, Oklahoma Will have a very athletic defense after these first three rounds.
89. Buffalo- Cole Strange, OG/C, Chattanooga
90. Tennessee- Isaiah Likely, TE, Coastal Carolina
91. Tampa Bay- Tariq Castro-Fields, CB, Penn State
92. Green Bay- Charlie Kolar, TE, Iowa State
93. San Francisco- Myjai Sanders, DE, Cincinnati
94. Kansas City- Damarri Mathis, CB, Pitt
95. Cincinnati- Kellen Diesch, OT, Arizona State
96. Denver (Via L.A.R)- Phidarian Mathis, NT, Alabama
97. Detroit- Leo Chenal, LB, Wisconsin*
98. New Orleans- Jalen Tolbert, WR, South Alabama
99. Cleveland- Calvin Austin, WR/KR, Memphis State
100. Baltimore- Zachary Carter, DE, Florida
101. Philadelphia (Via NO)- Zyon McCollum, CB, Sam Houston State
102. San Francisco- Dohnovan West, C/OG, Arizona State
103. Kansas City- James Cook, RB, Georgia
104. L.A. Rams- DeAngelo Malone, DE/OLB, Western Kentucky
105. San Francisco- Max Mitchell, OT, Louisiana

Round 4

106. Jacksonville- Tyquan Thornton, WR, Baylor Though WR would be the bigger need for us at this stage, I think I'd rather have Brandon Smith or Marquis Hayes. I would hope we'd use some of our picks to move up.
107. Cleveland (Via Det)- De’Shaan Dixon, DE, Norfolk State
108. Houston- Jesse Luketa, ILB, Penn State
109. Seattle (Via NYJ)- Amare’ Barno, DE, Virginia Tech
110. Baltimore (Via NYG)- Chris Paul, OG, Tulsa
111. New York Jets (Via Car)- Verone McKinley, S, Oregon
112. New York Giants (Via Chi)- Bailey Zappe, QB, Western Kentucky
113. Washington- Terrel Bernard, LB, Baylor
114. Atlanta- Kerby Joseph, S, Illinois
115. Denver- Brandon Smith, ILB, Penn State
116. Denver (Via Sea)- Jeremy Ruckert, TE, Ohio State
117. New York Jets (Via Minn)- Cade Mays, OG, Tennessee
118. Cleveland- Cade York, K, LSU
119. Baltimore- Sterling Weatherford, S, Miami (OH)
120. New Orleans- Haskell Garrett, DT, Ohio State
121. Kansas City (Via Mia)- John Ridgeway, NT, Arkansas
122. Indianapolis- Jack Coan, QB, Notre Dame
123. L.A. Chargers- Marquis Hayes, OG, Oklahoma
124. Philadelphia- J.T. Woods, S, Baylor
125. Miami (Via Pitt)- Pierre Strong, RB, South Dakota State
126. Las Vegas- Joshua Ezeudu, OG, North Carolina State
127. New England- Christopher Allen, OLB, Alabama
128. Baltimore (Via Ari)- Mike Rose, ILB, Iowa State

131. Tennessee- Dai’Jean Dixon, WR, Nicholls State
132. Green Bay- Cameron Dicker, K, Texas
133. Tampa Bay- Jake Ferguson, TE, Wisconsin
134. San Francisco- Alontae Taylor, CB, Tennessee
135. Kansas City- Derrick Deese Jr. TE, San Jose State
136. Cincinnati- Bryan Cook, S, Cincinnati
137. Carolina (Via Hou Via L.A.R)- Matt Waletzko, OT, North Dakota
138. Pittsburgh- Darrian Beavers, ILB, Cincinnati
139. Baltimore- Braxton Jones, OT, Southern Utah

141. Baltimore- Hassan Haskins, RB, Michigan

150. Chicago- Deven Thompkins, WR/KR, Utah State

Round 1

While Hutchinson would not be my ideal #1 overall, he would be better than Walker, I think.  Give me production over potential.

Watt left.   ai would hate for Houston to land this guy,  They have gone from Mario Williams to J.J. Watt to Jadeveon Clowney.  For once I would like for them to NOT have a DE capable of terrorizing our QBs.

I have been thinking about this pick for a while.  He would be the perfect CB for that scheme.

This is the kind of QB reach that could get coaches and GMs fired.  The rumors now, FWIW, is they they may bring in Baker Mayfield.

8. Atlanta- Drake London, WR, USC

I would rather he stabilize our offensive line.

A good football player.  I don't think he'll be Sean Taylor for them, but a solid pick.

Too bad for them they released the CB they drafted out of TCU a while back, since he was cleared for those battery charges.

Your last sentence says it all.  Thibs and Cross would be a great start for them....thus I don't want to see it happen.

Seems almost too perfect a fit for them, though I'm not sure f they should take him over a RT like Penning.

If New Enlgand ends up with Olave, it'll be one of the few times they actually got a WR draft pick right under Belichick.

This pick would make a ton of sense for them, asuming they don't trade Kyler away.

One of my favorite players in this draft.  I would hate for Buffahole to get him.  Sadly for me, they have an outstanding front office, so I could easily see this happening.

Both of these guys would be good picks for KC, especially given how the draft unfolded above.  Still, looking at that, I have the nagging sense the Chiefs would have been better served with an upgrade at CB.  Gabriel Davis absolutely embarrassed them in the playoffs.

Rams)- Desmond Ridder, QB, Cincinnati
The Lions could go for a QB or a Safety here, but they have another early pick in round two and at this point they might take into consideration the 5th year option on a QB. Desmond Ridder is a late rising player that could eventually be the Lions franchise QB. He shows a pretty good arm, decent mobility and sound pocket presence. He is raw at this stage in his career, but would probably be sitting behind Jared Goff for a year or two before assuming the starting role.

Round 2

33. Jacksonville- Zion Johnson, OG/C, Boston College I would be quite happy with this pick at this point in the draft.
34. Detroit- Lewis Cine, S, Georgia
35. New York Jets- Arnold Ebiketie, DE, Penn State
36. New York Giants- Tre McBride, TE, Colorado State-This wuld hurt, as I think he'd be perfect in our offense.  I'm also not sure how important TE is in Daboll's offense, and my gut tells me they might be better off addressing OL again.
37. Houston- Breece Hall, RB, Iowa State
38. New York Jets (Via Car)- Tyler Smith, OT, Tulsa
39. Chicago- Christian Watson, WR, North Dakota State
Assuming these two guys get good coaching, they could be great picks.  These are two guys I wouldn't mind with the Jaguars.
40. Seattle (Via Den)- Quay Walker, LB, Georgia
41. Seattle- Sam Howell, QB, North Carolina
42. Indianapolis (Via Wash)- Skyy Moore, WR, Western Michigan
43. Atlanta- Kingsley Enagbare, DE/OLB, South Carolina
44. Cleveland- DeMarvin Leal, DT, Texas A&M
45. Baltimore- David Ojabo, DE/OLB, Michigan-Mixed feelings on this pick.  If there is a front office and team that could afford a defensive redshirt at edge rusher, it's the Ravens.  However, given the arms race that has transpired in the AFC and the Ravens being close to the playpffs last year, I'd have to believe they would want a more immediate impact player...not a guy who is likely to miss the year with the achilles tear suggered last month.
46. Minnesota- Daxton Hill, S, Michigan-Stingley and hills would be a great way to build a great secondary.
47. Washington (Via Ind)- Kyler Gordon, CB, Washington
48. Chicago (Via L.A.C)- Nik Bonitto, OLB, Oklahoma
49. New Orleans- Kaiir Elam, CB, Florida
50. Kansas City (Via Mia)- George Pickens, WR, Georgia
51. Philadelphia- Perrion Winfrey, DT, Oklahoma-I would think they'd need an OT somehwere, but Winfrey would be an outstanding pick for them.
52. Pittsburgh- Travis Jones, NT, UConn.
53. Green Bay (Via LV)- David Bell, WR, Purdue-Very good fit here.
54. New England- Roger McCreary, CB, Auburn-I would certainly defer to Belichick here, but I'm not crazy about Auburn CBs.
55. Arizona- Cameron Thomas, DE/OLB, SDSU
56. Dallas- Jaquan Brisker, S, Penn State
57. Buffalo- Kenneth Walker, RB, Michigan State
58. Atlanta (Via Tenn)- Darian Kinnard, OT, Kentucky
59. Green Bay- Logan Hall, DE, Houston
60. Tampa Bay- Sam Williams, DE/OLB, Mississippi-Another mixed feelings pick.  I like the player, but considering the Bucs just took the Washington edge rusher last year, not sure if this is the direction they go.
61. San Francisco- Jalen Pitre, S, Baylor
62. Kansas City- Alec Pierce, WR, Cincinnati
63. Cincinnati- Greg Dulcich, TE, UCLA
64. Denver (Via L.A.R)- Drake Jackson, DE/OLB, USC

Round 3

65. Jacksonville- Troy Andersen, ILB, Montana State -I would prefer Muma or Christian Harris here, but not a bad pick given the team needs.
66. Detroit- John Metchie, WR, Alabama
67. New York Giants- Jamaree Salyer, OG/OT, Georgia
68. Houston- Wan’Dale Robinson, WR, Kentucky
69. New York Jets- Chad Muma, LB, Wyoming
70. Jacksonville (Via Car)- Jelani Woods, TE, Virginia-Big big target who seens to lumber on the field but ran well.  Soft hands and seems to be a great red zone target and good fit as the true Y in Pederson's offense.
71. Chicago- Nicholas Petit-Frere, OT, Ohio State
72. Seattle- Isaiah Spiller, RB, Texas A&M
73. Indianapolis (Via Wash)- Sean Rhyan, OT, UCLA

Thanks.

If I had to offer one critique, it would be that I did not see the power back Robinson out of Alabama being drafted at all in this mock.

My eyesight isn't what it was so admittedly I may have missed it, and if so, my apologies.

But I think he could easily go in th 4th or 5th round, and in theory I could see him here given Robinson's injury.

He probably will get drafted. The problem is that there is an over-abundance of really good RB's in this draft. A lot of extremely good runners are gonna go undrafted because of the supply vs. demand. I just ran out of teams with a need at the position. Even if he doesn't get drafted though, I could see him making a roster and being a contributor to an NFL team, if given the chance. There were several RB's I felt really bad about leaving out of this draft, but I just didn't have room.

I've heard 2 different national pundits mention him as a potential Jags pick in the 5th round. One of them actually said "4th or 5th round."

Personally, I have RB's I like a lot better, but to each their own.

That makes sense.

To me, this year, the sweet spot for RBs, especially for this team, is about the 4th to 5th round, and I'm from the old school of thought where I don't knock down RBs because they are RBs.  I think there is a lot of quality depth at the position.    I think anyone who needs help at the position can get it this year.

I associate a power back with this team because Pederson had LeGarrette Blount on his Eagles team, and I could see him getting one this year, especially since Robinson and Etienne are trying to return from injury.  I could see Brian Robinson or the kid from Notre Dame, the Florida kid and the two from Georgia as all good candidates *though I wouldn't categorize Cook as a power back, per se.

The kid from Notre Dame, Kyren Williams isn't a power back at all. He's 5'9" 194 lbs. He's more of a scatback than anything else. He is an excellent receiver, but posted a very poor 4.65/40 at the Combine. Personally, I don't like Dameon Pierce at all, but he's been getting a lot of hype lately.

Ideally, we wouldn't waste a pick on a RB and a guy like Abram Smith of Baylor, Ty Chandler of North Carolina or Bryant Koback of Toledo sign with us as an UDFA. I really like all of these guys. They run "angry". They are average size, but run with power and don't get tackled easily. IMO, I just don't see the sense in drafting a RB when that player is likely gonna get knocked down to 3rd string, once Etienne and Robinson are healthy. I'd rather use that pick to add another WR, depth at OLB, depth at ILB, another CB or O-Line help. That's just me though.

Mea culpa on Williams.  I thought/could have sworn they had a power back.

To me, drafting a RB for us makes sense given the # of late picks we have.  Got about a week and a half until the real thing.  I'm stoked.  Just hope like hell we get it right.

Usually, Notre Dame uses power backs. Williams was a different kind of back for them. They went against their norm when they recruited him.

Amen! This thing is gonna start out real bad, if we do something stupid with pick #1 though. Ideally we trade down, but that looks like a long shot. I just don't want any more reaches on players though. We're still feeling the effects of drafting C.J. Henderson and K'Lavon Chaisson.

Round 1

8. Atlanta- Drake London, WR, USC
London might not have elite speed, but he makes up for it with elite route running skills and excellent hands and body control. He was on pace for Ja’Marr Chase like season, before fracturing his ankle. I believe he can be an elite WR in the right system.

That is great work!  Again, I love it when you do these kinds of posts.  It's evident that you put thought and effort in.  AND, I always come away wanting to learn more about several of these players.

I would love it if Johnson is available at 33. But I'd be a little suprised. It might still be hard for me to pass on Watson or Moore if they are available at 33. I would even take Pierce there if those two were gone, even if the value chart says it's a reach. It's that important to me to get a fast X. Or I'd take Shakir with one of the 3rd round picks and take a 4th round TE. Deese should still be there. Love the Troy Anderson pick.

To me, drafting a RB for us makes sense given the # of late picks we have.  Got about a week and a half until the real thing.  I'm stoked.  Just hope like hell we get it right.

I just don't want any more reaches on players though. We're still feeling the effects of drafting C.J. Henderson and K'Lavon Chaisson.

Ugh.  I'm sickened by the thought of that draft, especially since it was in the aftermath of trading away Ramsey and pissing off Ngakoue.

The thing is, there were several of us on the board who did NOT want Henderson at 9 overall, and absolutely HATED the idea of Chaisson.  You and I were among them.  It was almost like watching a crash in slow motion, screaming "No!  Watch out!" having nobody hear us and being unable to stop the disaster that followed.

jJust about everybody wanted someone else other than Henderson before the draft.  Most wanted an OL (I was a Wirfs guy),  Some would have been fine with a WR (I was high on both Jeudy and Ruggs and pushed for Ruggs.  I'm glad they didn't listen to me on THAT one.)  But just about everyone wanted someone OTHER than Henderson.

I know you and I both hated Chaisson pre draft.  That continued post draft.  There were others on the board that warmed up to him.  I wish I was wrong on that one, but we've gotten nothing out of him, and that's why we're likely choosing Hutchnson.

We HAVE to stop drafting on a treadmill.

Nice work, I'll keep that close during the draft. The only issue is I cringe thinking we may go into the season with Ryquell Armstead and Mekhi Sargent as our starting backs. I would like to see us upgrade that 3rd running back slot. There is no guarantee either of our injured players will be ready. I do believe we need to draft a running back.
