He's unnecessarily pitting himself against the non-pga set, and that is off-putting,  but that statement is inaccurate. 

He's finished in the top ten at Augusta alone 7 times in the last decade.

While this is true, and maybe this is recency bias, I feel like he was never in it most of the first 3 days and then mounted a charge on the last day to place nicely but never really had a chance to win. Don't recall him being in a final group recently, or hanging back at the driving range hoping for a playoff, etc. Being in the top 10 is great, but doesn't really mean he had a chance to win, plus it's Rory, so, expectations are always higher.
