I didn't say anything about coach urban. He wasnt the one running the offense last season anyways. It was bevil! Good ole coach bevil.

I was pointing out that screens didnt work any better under gus Bradley or marrone

You don't really have to say it for us to see that you're making excuses for Meyer.

Coach Myers has moved on to fox college football. Let that man move on. Let's enjoy this season! Yes those screen passes help slow down the over zealous pass rush. They were very timely.

Sure is nice having a former NFL QB call the plays, huh?

and more misdirection rollout plays which they used in preseason and week 2 but did not use in week 1 for some reason.

They tried roll out plays in the first half but Del Rio had his players keying on that and they would be in TL's face every time.

I'm working on replacing the screens on the back porch to keep the flies out.

I don't think screens can be effective when the front four is getting so much pressure because the 5th rusher the play tries to exploit is able to key on the backs instead of the QB. You basically screen the back right into a linebacker.

The front 4 getting too much pressure is exactly why screens work.

You catch the front 4 being overly aggressive and let them blow through the line and take themselves out of the play. Now your blockers are out in front of the back and can take on the second level defenders like the linebacker you mentioned.

What blows up a screen is the DL not rushing the passer but following the blockers as they move to create the screen. The only way to do that is to be less aggressive and pay more attention to what the blockers are actually doing.

Screens are most effective on a blitz. If you can perfectly time up a screen on a blitz you will get a good chunk of yardage.

No, what happens is the second level defender makes the tackle in the backfield.

We are going to need screens this weekend. Etienne has the speed to keep defenses honest if we time some right
