TWITAFCS - Week 7

#1

PINNED: Bullseye, we miss you. Our feeble attempts to provide insightful commentary and engagement to the AFCSouth pale in comparison to the work you've done before us. We hope you can join us again soon.

Welp. Close losses are still losses, and many of us fell for the guise of a 24-0 beatdown on our home turf as an assurance that we'd be able to bring out the brooms against the supposedly inferior horseshoe team. A select few disloyal participants chose against their fandom for the sake of a cheap victory, @and they deserve all the mockery you dish out against them.@

For this week's slate, we have 3 contests, which, if you're like me, just means more opportunities to fail miserably. To the games!

nyg @ JAX - The former Coughlin team is 5-1, and is winning in spite of assumed liability in the most important position in football. Is their record for real, or are they getting lucky against middling teams? The other former Coughlin team has lost 3 in a row, but have kept every loss close. When they win, however, it's been in big fashion. Which team shows up this week?

clots @ tacks - is it too much to ask for a meteor? indynoplace found a scheme that picked apart the Jags last weekend, do they keep running those plays until any team figures them out? The tacks are poop and butt, I don't care who's on the roster, what their record is, or whether they match up well with anyone. Poop. and. butt.

tinhorns @ Vegas - The tinhorns are coming off a bye. The Raiders moved to a city named after a crappy Chevy from the '70's, and have played like a rustbucket this season. This game is either gonna be a thriller or an insult to the game of football.

For the year, I'm 8-8-1, and offer the following poor choices:

DUVAL 23 nyg 20 - If the team forces Jones to be a passer, we can force mistakes. The team does well when we win turnover battle. The last time Daboll was in Duval, things didn't go so well for him, either, no reason not to keep that streak going.

clots 20 tacks (home) 19 - Reich is figuring out how to work with his statuesque QB, and I don't think vrabel's goons can adapt and stop them. The clots continue to ride the high they've had since upsetting the chefs.

VEGA 37 tinhorns 28 - thoughtful comment goes here.

Good luck, folks!

0-1 last week for a 9-7-1 record overall.

Jags over the Giants as the team gets right again.  Unless it’s the special teams turn to let us down.

Tacks over the clots.  Their defense will not be as kind as ours was last week.

Vegas over the tinhorns.

11-5-1 overall.

I will echo the same picks as above.

Jags - I have no reason to pick them other than a feeling in my gut...or maybe that was the Chinese buffet we had for lunch.

Tacks - Clots sucks.  Never should have beaten us.  They may have a chance if Taylor is back, but I doubt it.

Vegas - the most overrated team since pre-season eeks one out against a bad team.

I'll go with:

Giants over Jaguars
Titans over Colts
Raiders over Texans
We learned in the Sunday School who made the sun shine through.  I know who made the moonshine too, back where I come from.

8-8-1

Hopefully  I’m wrong, I really want  to pick the Jags on this one.  That’s my gut but I’ll take the L gladly if wrong.

Going with Giants
Raiders
Tacks.

Just a friendly reminder,  even though you’re a tittians fan, it’s tacks in these parts.

7-9-1 overall after my "win" last week.

Jags over G-men. Giants are on a roll, but they are rolling into Duval this week. It'll be a one-score game, and the Jags are overdue to win one.

colts over Tacks. They avoid the sweep and are somehow done with all divisional games save the tinhorns by week 7.

Houston over Vegas. Upset special, but the Tinhorns aren't that bad and Vegas ain't that good. Like the Jags, the Texans have been in every game they haven't won. They're actually playing like the Giants, running the ball well and getting competent but unremarkable play from their QB.

1-0 last week, so 8-8 so far.

As I'll be doing until the Jaguars start winning, again, I'll take the Jags to lose. I'm thinking something like 24-20 with the defense giving up a long drive with a ton of missed tackles at the end for the giants to go ahead.

I'll take the tacks over the clots, though I wish they could both die in a fiery plane crash somehow. Something like 20-13.

Lastly I'll go raiders taking the texans out, something like 24-13.

1. It’s still early in the season.
2. Pretty sure he didn’t pick them so you two can tie.
3. [BLEEP].  Idk anymore
