Even a rational effort to build a big beautiful wall with a big beautiful gate will stumble on the rocks of political disagreement between labor advocates who want very few people to come legally, and business advocates who want very many. If everyone has to be legal, you have to have agreement about how many legal slots there should be. And we don't have that.
It's a grift beginning to end.
