If Walker is playing 34 End full time then we wasted that pick.

I'd take a Cameron Heyward or a Cameron Jordan any day

JJ Watt was a 34 End full time. I think he would be worth the first pick.

Cameron Heyward would be a favorable comp for Walker in this scenario. Not sure about the Cameron Jordan comp though. Does NOLA play a 3 - 4? I thought they were predominately a 4 - 3 team.

So, you are saying JJ Watt at number 1 is a wasted pick? Lol

Wasted is probably the wrong word. But I think I understand what flgators is saying.

The process is important, and you should follow it pretty much at all costs. Drafting him No. 1 would not be following the process, and not give the team the highest likelihood of maximizing the pick for the franchise's future success.

Having said that, teams have resources to talk to coaches, staff, and others who may know the player better, his mindset, and his qualities that cannot be measured or seen on film. Sometimes, that evidence is so overwhelming it can balance out going against the process. As fans, we will never be able to correctly weigh that information. Just have to hope the Jags, do that better than other teams.

Taylor Doll was posting something yesterday about the OT from Ohio State. That guy is MASSIVE. He's 6'8, 375 pounds with long [BLEEP] arms. Dawand Jones.

He's the best pure RT in the draft. According to Draft Buzz, he only allowed 4 QB pressures, no QB hits and no sacks on 693 snaps last season. Yesterday on NFL Network at the Senior Bowl they were bragging on DL Keion White of Georgia Tech and Dawand Jones was dominating him in practices. Just burying him.

Yeah, I have mentioned him a few times as to who i want at tackle in the 2nd or 3rd if we dont resign Taylor.  Darnell Wright is another RT i think we should look at as he is impressing at the SB

Id honestly be good with taking Schmitz here and move Fortner to LG. Dude looks like a future All Pro at C. I highly doubt we would though

O'Cyrus Torrence, OG, Florida

Torrence is standing out as a run blocker and in pass protection through the first two days of practice. He's a massive man (6-5, 337 pounds) with excellent core strength. Bull rushers have learned they won't have much luck attacking him down the middle. He's struggled some with zone blocks, but he's built for downhill, power-based running attacks and has shown out in individual drills and the scrimmage phase of practice.

Sounds about right. Hope he slips to us somehow.

That's an interesting thought. The Center position is 2nd most important on the offensive line (arguably) and if Schmidz is considered the BAP he'd have to be considered. The determining factor will likely be whether they believe Fortner can get stronger. He definitely has the mental aptitude for that position.

Even if they feel Fortner could get stronger they could move him to LG.

That's true. He did play guard at Kentucky in addition to center.
