Yeah, just like the Gustavo.  lol

I agree this whole idea of handcuffing and perp-walking a former President is really stupid.  I hope someone can step in and stop it from happening.  It sets a really bad precedent and unnecessarily inflames people.  Not to mention, why do we handcuff and perp walk people who are charged with non-violent crimes?  There's no reason for it.

A couple of interesting facts: the last President who was arrested was US Grant, arrested for speeding in his horse and buggy (while he was President).  He paid a fine.
Secondly, if Trump refuses to go back to NYC and surrender, NY would try to extradite him from Florida, and Ron DeSantis would have to agree to extradite him.

I'm pretty sure that judges decide whether to cooperate with extradition orders or not, not governors.

Tax evasion would be a stretch, as nobody is claiming payment was not made.  The question becomes, is "hush" money a deductible expense?  If you can spend money distributing information to promote yourself, can you spend money preventing the spread of information that could affect you adversely?

I agree it's much ado about very little and it's obviously politically motivated.  A tax audit might be appropriate, but that's about all.  An arrest is WAY overboard.

Why do you think this has something to do with taxes? No one has even hinted at this and the IRS has tried to find something with audits of Trump and has found nothing.

Not in Florida. The governor has the ultimate call to allow it or call for an investigation. I don't think he can outright stop it if it goes to court but he has the 1st say if Trump wants to fight it.

Trump-Manhattan DA case: Bob Costello testifies to grand jury, says Michael Cohen is a 'serial liar'
Michael Cohen slammed Costello, and told Fox News Digital that payments to Stormy Daniels were 'done at the direction of' Trump

Robert Costello, the former legal advisor to ex-Trump attorney Michael Cohen, appeared before the grand jury in the Manhattan District Attorney’s investigation into former President Trump Monday, and testified that Cohen is a "serial liar."

Costello testified before the grand jury for more than two hours Monday, as Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg considers bringing charges against former President Trump.

If you think about it, all of this kind of sucks. After the January 6th peaceful protest in the Capitol Building, I bought 2 sets of pitchforks and 6 tiki torches so support protests against the Jags bad decision making as well as any type of political decisions that constituted a peaceful protest that did not expressly ban pitchforks and tiki torches. Bummer .... guess I need to reschedule my approved PTO.

Keep those pitchforks; they will come in handy when guns get confiscated. Or when the next protest against Baalke occurs. Which ever comes first.

Dang, with all of the stimulus checks he gave out during his term, running up the national deficit by a greater % than any other president in history, I don't think he could break anybody.   Now, if you want to go back to the old days, he did break a lot of people by forcing them out of their homes to build his casinos.

I'm going to march with the LGBTQQIP2SA community if Buttigieg ever gets ousted but not certain if they allow pitchforks.   Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Pansexual, Two-Spirited, and Asexual.

Wonder if the NPA (National Pitchfork Association) will get involved if they try to take away our pitchforks.

Trump played them again. This doesn't come out unless he says they will arrest him. Then it just goes away or they continue the lie. Now it comes out that the DA is breaking the law.

DeSantis also outed himself. I was always worried about him because he has surrounded himself with Rinos and their people. All of his top people thought this was the best way to react and now he will lose any support he had. It would have been better to stay silent or just say he was waiting to see the indictment.

I think DeSantis is thinking that if he just sits back and lets Trump pummel him day after day, he'll look weak.  I don't blame him for taking on Trump.  He has to at some point.  Trump is a bully, and in 2016, a lot of candidates didn't know how to react to him.  So they looked weak.  And that made Trump look strong in the eyes of a lot of voters.  If DeSantis doesn't want to go the way of Jeb Bush or Marco Rubio or Ted Cruz, he has to stand up to Trump, and not just accept being bullied.

It's funny, Trump's call for protests is failing because so many people have accepted the idea that they were set up on January 6, 2020.  Some think they were set up by Antifa or the FBI, or the "deep state," and some think they were set up and abandoned by Trump himself (that one might be true).  You can't sell the idea that the January 6 riot was all a big entrapment, and then ask people to do it again.
