There's probably nothing Patterson is better at than McManus.(05-25-2023, 12:35 PM)NYC4jags Wrote: https://twitter.com/Jaguars/status/16617...53792?s=20 Touchbacks: Advantage McManus Field Goal Distance: Advantage McManus Inside 50: Probably even. McManus has missed 5 total kicks in the last 3 years from under 50 yards.
I'm sure I'm in the minority when I say this... but...
THANK THE HEAVENS!!! Never thought Patterson was good enough to be a starter on a contending team. Leg was entirely too weak, and he wasn't lights out inside the 50. This is an upgrade at an important spot.

Brandon Scherff is no longer that dude. Next season I want him gone. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Logan Cooke is probably partying tonight. No more kickoff duties.

Ready for May Day, May Flowers, and Memorial and Mother's Day!
Got literally no clue how good McManus is these days, but I do remember him having a cannon leg a few years ago. Based on the presumption that he hasn't fallen off a cliff recently, I love this move. Patterson made 50 yarders feel sketchy based on his ability to get the ball that far down the field.

Baalke said they’re always looking for upgrades. This is one I suppose. Of course we’ll all be headed to the Modis building the first time he misses. Nature of fandom.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

My expectations are on the offense to hit the endzone more this year to where long distance FG attempts are rare and fall in line with more last minute attempts going into halftime to pad onto the scoreboard. It is the NFL. I am sure we're going to have a game or two, probably more based on this year's schedule on paper, where, it will ultimately come down to McManus having to boot one through the uprights for the win. More than likely against teams like the Chiefs, Bills, 49ers, Bengals and Ravens. We'll see how it shakes out though. In a perfect world? Our defense just smacks offenses all season and holds them to 17 PPG while our offense destroys defenses and scores early and often to where there's no choice but to play one dimensionally to keep pace. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie?
