                                          FS                                                   SS

CB                              OLB             MLB                  MLB               OLB/CB                          CB

                                                 DE               NT                 DE

Lineup would look like:

FS - Gipson

SS - Cyprien

CB - House

CB - Ramsey

OLB - Skuta/Fowler

OLB - Telvin

MLB - Poz

MLB - Jack

DE - Malik

NT - Roy

DE - Fowler/Ngakoue
I agree, but I think you got to Fower/Ngakoue as the Broncos use Ware/Miller which are the OLB. Put Marks/Odrick as the other DE. I have no idea where I would put Telvin in a 3-4 look, but I don't really mind. I think this lineup would be killer.

Yeah, I edited it. I honestly think we could use Telvin as a hybrid player? Maybe stick him at SS and let him play in the box, or move him to MLB and take Poz out?

Yeah I was definitely thinking about this. First thing to came to my mind was Deone Bucannon. He actually plays inside linebacker for the Cards and is about same body type. Was also thinking the way the Steelers use Shazier, but he is quite bigger than Telvin.

Jack should play SS.

Think we could pry Wade Phillips away from Denver?

Who's playing MLB on Thursday? Last spot at LB could be a battle b/w Pullard and Tripp. We shall see.

Will be good for Jack to get some reps at a position he is probably more ready for at this point in the season. Eventually, hes taking Poz's spot.

Tripp is way ahead of Pullard...I wouldn't shocked if our nickel LBs by midseason are Jack and Tripp with Poz and Telvin on the pine.

Quote:Yes.  I'm saying that it's clear that Jack WON'T play otto and the anti-Skuta crew will now be moaning about it even louder.

I mean is it bad that I'm anti-Skuta? Skuta is slow, Odrick is slow, Poz is slow. We need to add more speed, the Bengals took advantage of us, albeit pretty much every where, but easily off the edge. It was almost horrifying that Odrick angle on Dalton on the sideline. This should've happened sooner.

I think Jack could replace Telvin by next year

Skuta is upgradeable, sure.  The question is whether you want Jack spending his rookie season playing/learning out of position, or preparing to takeover in the middle (possibly before the calendar year is up.)

And BTW - good luck finding a guy that plays Odrick's position properly that's much faster than him. Speed is pretty far down the list of what they require from him.  That's why they often move him from that spot on 3rd down and put a faster player in. (a faster guy lined up wider makes it a 9 tech position instead of a 4 or 5 tech which is Odrick's role on 1st and 2nd down)

So you think Tripp is potentially better than Smith?

Telvin is not good in pass coverage.

There are 3 LBs on the roster that are better than Poz in coverage, but he's still valuable on 1st and 2nd down.

Once Jack has the defensive playbook down and is able to align the defense on all three downs,  well,  Poz is going to be on the bench unless they think he can play OTTO.

Jack, Smith, and who else?

Coaches never asked Poz to play Otto. Either they know he can't or he does not want to play outside.

Telvin isn't good in pass coverage.  Just because he's fast doesn't automatically mean he's a good coverage linebacker

He's been out of position quite a few times during the preseason.
