Home game experience as a fan

#1

Is it just me or has it gotten unbearable sitting in the stadium? You are CONSTANTLY bombarded with things that are designed to keep things “fun” but they are ruining the experience. The DJ guy screaming about something yet again, the D line, t shirt gun, a foot race, who can guess where the football is, the party button, and the list goes on and on and on.

There’s not a single time out, not a single drive where the action stops for a second where you’re not being ear assaulted by the speakers about something else completely unrelated to the game.

It’s been a part of the game for a while - but we have reached a level unprecedented.

Guys, let the fans talk about the game some. Let us discuss… let us digest.  This is now a 24/7 advertising jingle. It’s like walking into a Las Vegas casino.

End rant

They are tone deaf with it too, no I don't feel like hitting the party button when we are getting killed in the 4th quarter again.

The dline to me is stupid now, it was cool when it first started but now it just comes off like a cheesy highschool band.

Thee rest of it I don't mind, but that stupid party button one kills me. No we don't feel like a party right now.

You’re right. They plan some kind of “fun” event at every possession change. Well guess what - sometimes that possession change is us throwing a pick.

After a pick, 20 seconds later “let’s give it up for the D Line!!!”

No, I am still upset about the pick and I’d like to discuss it with my fellow fans around me, stop shoving this “entertainment” down our throats. They could cut 70% of it and it would still be more than enough.

Worlds biggest scoreboards have given us 1/3 of actual gameplay and even that now is littered with ads. Verizon first down marker? Lol. So cheesy. And so overdone.

I feel like they are tailoring these games to fans that have never been to a football game. Stop being insecure about the product. You don’t need some guy screaming into the microphone dozens of times between drives or timeouts to keep people engaged. I promise you, nobody is coming to these games for that.

No one does anything to actually and only do the thing; they do the thing to be seen doing the thing. Case in point: people don't go to a jaguars football game to watch the Jaguars play football; they go to a jaguars game to be seen (online or IRL) at the jaguars game.

Get used to it-it's not changing and its only going to get worse

When they first debuted the scoreboards, I knew it was just so they could fill more ads in.

Everything they add is not about the game, it's to entertain you. The product on the field doesn't matter. The budzone had people that would buy tickets and just go watch all the games on the TVs there. Even people who had good tickets would disappear after a bit and never return.

I go to watch the game. If I leave my seat, it's only during a break, and I'm trying to get back to my seat before it's over. The world has changed and people can't just sit and enjoy the game.

I’ve never attended a game at another stadium but I’m pretty sure these things are league dictated. As a matter of fact, while I watched a game on TV of some other team, I could hear the hype guy, (“Alright, alright, alright!”) in the background while the talking heads talked.

I have and yes, it is. The Shield micromanages the experience.

Green Bay does it old school and it’s so beautiful. None of that happens over there.

I’ve been to several other away games and don’t remember it being this bad.

This is to the point where you can’t even hear yourself think. Well thanks guys. Glad I’m not the only one.

That's been my complaint for years.  The ear-splitting music in the stadium makes conversation impossible.  I hate it.

I don't mind most of it - I can tune it out pretty effectively. It's not even that loud where I sit. (back row of lower bowl 114) But then again - I attend rock concerts on the regular for work, so... "loud" is probably different to me.

But yeah - if we are down in the second half - they should find some basic alternatives to the hype man garbage.
Show an inspiring vid on the screens or trot out the cheerleaders, whatever. The 45% of fans who are there for the game don't want to party like it's 1999 when down by two touchdowns.

I don't even mind old Duval Matthew McConaughey doing the shell games and whatnot. Just yank his appearances for something more benign in the 4th Q if we're getting shellacked.

In European soccer matches, at least the ones that I have seen, the musical entertainment is supplied by the fans. They sing. I would greatly prefer that to the ear-splitting rap music they play in our stadium, which, frankly, makes me not want to go to the games. Sorry to say it. I appreciate everyone who goes. But I don't want to pay a few hundred bucks to get my ear drums blasted by music I don't even like.

If they allow vuvuzelas in the stadium, so help me....

Well the team keeps losing at home so they got to find some way of having people feel like they had a good time. This team has stunk at home all year.

The experience has definitely gone down the tubes the last 10 years or so. I used to really enjoy and look forward to the game day atmosphere but it got so bad, I gave up my season tickets in 2022 that I'd had every year since the beginning. I still go to an occasional game but it's something that you need to tolerate rather than enjoy.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

Wow kinda sux to hear all this. I gave up my tix about a decade ago as I realized i would rather hang w friends at house parties or otherwise have an open schedule and even at that time as i started getting a bit older i just wasnt enjoying it as much. Plus we flat out sucked.

This is something that needs figured out for a new stadium.

Does anybody still really love the gameday exp here. Aside from our record at home this year?

You should watch the live feed of a professional basket ball game during the breaks in the game. Lol

I doubt anyone enjoys all that crap. You don’t have to get rid of it all but it shouldn’t be literally 20 different things thrown your way NON STOP.

The game day experience is good when the team plays well. Always has been always will be.

Hiring a “hype man” is unnecessary if the team is good and having a “hype man” when the team is losing is even worse.

I enjoy it still and like going to the games. I just think they have to be more aware of the environment in live time. Like I said no I don't feel like partying when we're getting whacked in the 4th. Do it in the 1st where we at least feel like we still got a shot is all I'm saying.

Maybe forcing a good time on people is what makes it less of a good time. 110% over 4 hours can be quite exhausting.
