Not really. It's hard to collapse when nothing was built. At 8-3 we were 2 or 3 games up on the division lead and were fighting for the #1 overall spot. If we lose next week there is a good chance we don't make the playoffs at that point and that would be the biggest collapse.

Yes, you are right, this is worse. At least you get more time with 15 straight losses to let it sink in.

Has anyone seen an update on Anton Harisson's injury?

Not yet, but holy cow this has been a rough year for injury. Lots of them and really hitting us hard at positions we're either weak at or completely lack depth.

But we also lead the South, sit at 8-7 and are 1 game behind the all wonderful Chiefs and Mahomes.

If there was ever a get right game then this is it. Our schedule has been brutal and this is the first team with a losing record since the T*tans.

If we can't win this one, even with all the issues the team are facing, then ill be concerned.

It’s not that bad of course but the Jags ARE 2-5 since the bye. It’s not good no matter the record.

And that's true. We can all point to reasons we've struggled and they are true and I'm disappointed not seeing players stepping up to try and lift the team through this stretch.

I've been expecting a reaction and we didn't play bad @Cleveland or against Baltimore but mistakes killed us and good teams will punish those. This week is the perfect opportunity to get a W, however ugly, and try and get some positive momentum going again.

They called it a back injury - but it looked like a shot to the ribs that may have cracked one or separated that cartilage between them. Gonna be tough sledding without him.

Just a further indictment on this coaching staff and front office for thinking they were set with that group to begin with going into this off season. Knowing the injury history with Cam Robinson, Walker Little and Brandon Scherff.

It's criminal at this point with what they've done.

They definitely placed way too much confidence in their stable of O-Linemen head into 2023.

I wasn't shocked based on their comments at the end of last season - but I'm sure you remember me begging for upgrades or contingency plans at LG and Center prior to free agency and the draft. Turns out Walker Little is probably not what most of us thought he would be either, and that makes the whole thing much worse. They definitely [BLEEP] the bed on their analysis and rostering of the line any way you break it down.

All I want to hear from this team is: panthers
nothing about playoffs and division title, nothing about everything being in front of us, nothing about having opportunities, nothing about the funk or how to get out of it.
panthers, panthers, panthers.
thats it. from the top of the organization to the food vendors to the fans.
panthers.
thats it.

It does make me wonder how this will impact whatever decision they will make about Cam this offseason. Getting massively overpaid but do they think they can let him walk?

Gotta keep him. Little would have to explode in performance in the coming weeks to even consider otherwise IMO

That's the worry. Cam is getting $19.4m this season and $21.6m next season. He's a huge cap saving if cut but the OL FA market is just ridiculous so don't want to go that route and draft is asking an awful lot for a rookie to come in and be a key starter.

They would save 16 mill including dead cap

I could see them restructure salary and extend 2 years

the bigger issue is Scherffs 24 mill cap, with his poor performance, I would like to designate him a June cut, This would save 16.5
Rebuild the interior

I would say something major needs to be done to overhaul the line. Cuts may be a part of it.

There's plenty of places to save some cap and we have Allen and Lawrence to pay this summer, no idea what they do with Ridley but if they want to add reinforcements then it looks like letting people walk to bring people in.

I'm not against letting Cam or Scherff go for cap relief but we need more quality and depth on the Oline. They haven't been great but you need to make sure your bringing in improvements if your letting them go.

We don't have to pay Lawrence this summer.  Hopefully we can sign Allen to a extension but we can tag him if we need to

I know we don't have to pay him but they've made it pretty clear they want something done this offseason.

Who made it clear that they want to extend Trevor this offseason?  I haven't seen that

I guess it’s nothing serious.

They’re also apparently optimistic that Cam Robinson will return from IR this week.

I'd rather let Scherff go with his age and its usually easier and cheaper to replace a guard
And letting Scherff go isnt really about cap relief, but more performance based. I'd advocate for using that 16.5 saved completely on the interior oline.

The cap is in a good spot for next year. Just need to trim the fat and get some new blood on the interiors
