Turkey invades Syria

#1

Turkey and US coalition forces are using tanks in Syria to escort their "rebel forces"

Even a CNN correspondent stated that Turkey isn't really all that concerned with ISIS in the area.  They only now have interest because the Kurds are moving in.  However, what's going to be spoon fed through main stream news here is that this is an assault on ISIS.  on the surface I suppose it is, but it goes so much deeper than that.  this is ultimately about dethroning Assad.

my problem is this is two steps away from full blown war with Russia.  over what?  because we so desperately need to overthrow Assad? please stop.  we dont care about conquering Syria.  we dont care about overthrowing Assad.  please stop. please stop. please stop.

Turkey has been a big supporter of ISIS in private so I wonder what this is really about. Are they tired of using ISIS as a weapon or are they just using them as an excuse to move troops?

Exactly, it's now known that they have been helping ISIS sell oil.  The report from the CNN analyst is that they want a buffer between them and the Kurds... which is interesting because if they're SO CONCERNED ABOUT ISIS, then they would have been interested in this area already.

Another senior US official told CNN's Barbara Starr the US assessment is that Turkey's cross-border action is largely about trying to stop Kurdish action. "The Turks never cared about Jarablus until the Kurds wanted to get there,"

In the big picture though, Turkey wants to remove Assad, a secular leader

our leaders are well aware of the consequences and they really dont care.  it's not like they are the ones who might actually have to be on the ground fighting

Gotta make those war $$$$ somehow I guess. The thought of a Hilary Clinton/Trump led middle eastern war is terrifying.
