Only 5 WR/DB in Jaguars History with 1400+ yard seasons

(This post was last modified: 07-07-2024, 12:20 PM by JagFanatic24. Edited 4 times in total.)

1. Jimmy Smith - in just his 3rd season as a full 16 game starter, Smith racked up a franchise-record 1636 receiving yards in 1999, and led the league in receptions with 116.

2. Reggie Barlow - in 1998, Barlow led the league in Punt Return yards with 555. He also added 747 kickoff return yards, and 168 receiving yards for a total of 1470 all purpose yards, which is still the 2nd most total yards in Jaguars History for a WR.

3. Brian Witherspoon - listed as a DB, and in today’s NFL he would likely have a different career with his game speed. One of the fastest ‘in-game’ Jaguars in team history. In 2008 he was a return specialist and racked up 1250 kickoff return yards and 192 punt return yards for a total of 1442 all purpose yards. To put this in perspective, Jamal Agnew made the Pro Bowl in 2022 with a total of 1025 all purpose yards.

4. Marqise Lee - in 2016 Lee had 851 receiving yards, 35 rushing yards, 3 punt return yards, and 545 kickoff return yards. At face value it looks like an average, run of the mill type of season, but when you add it all up it’s 1434 all purpose yards. Which is the 3rd most total yards in franchise history for a wide receiver.

5. Allen Robinson - the famous 1400 and 14 season back in 2015 when him and Allen Hurns went crazy. Arob racked every yard from the wide receiver position, which ranks 2nd behind the great Jimmy Smith. And the 14 tubs is still the most receiving touchdowns 9 years later. Arob made it a little easier to let Justin Blackmon go….but man…could you imagine prime Blackmon and prime Arob ‘pre-knee injury’

*lot of talk about the offensive line this past season, but Travis Etienne still put up good production in the all purpose category. In fact, Etienne just completed his 2nd healthy season and has registered 2 of the top 17 all purpose seasons in Jaguars History. Back to back 1400+ seasons.

1400 yards or more in a single season has only been accomplished by 12 players in team history, and only 5 players with 2 or more 1400+ yard seasons. Going into his 3rd season, Etienne could have a breakout type of season in 2024, which means he would be in elite company as just the 3rd player in franchise history to have 1400 total yards in 3 or more seasons. (Fred, Mojo, Etienne?)

1. Jones Drew - 6 times
2. Fred Taylor - 6 times
3. *Travis Etienne - 2 times
4. Leonard Fournette - 2 times
5. Jimmy Smith - 2 times
6. Reggie Barlow - 1 time
7. Jordan Todman - 1 time
8. Brian Witherspoon- 1 time
9. Deji Karim - 1 time
10. Marqise Lee - 1 time
11. Allen Robinson - 1 time
12. James Robinson - 1 time
