Cisco: “lot of quit”

Yeah. Brought it up once or twice now in the gameday thread. That's the death sentence right there for this coaching staff and front office. Time to start packing your bags and getting the [BLEEP] up on out of here.

Dunno how anyone can defend keeping doug at this point. Yeah, "the players aren't executing" but mostly those same players brought us to 8-3 last year.
Be honest and ask yourself: did everyone on both sides of the ball regress or are the coaches not properly preparing and motivating these guys? Doug strikes me as a guy who wants to be a 9 to 5 coach. It's why he doesn't want play calling duty and seems to know little about what is going on. He wants the coordinators and players to run the team. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Doug is gone. He's completely checked out mentally. Maybe the guy has something going on is his life that has him distracted. Or, as I speculated earlier, he simply has a short shelf-life as a head coach. His inability to compartmentalize the stress and strain of the position drains him quickly and he loses enthusiasm.
He's just treading water until the inevitable ax falls and I bet he feels an immense sense of relief when it does happen. Khan has padded his bank account well enough to live comfortably for the rest of his life. If he feels the need to get back into football, get an analyst's job, or something which doesn't require total commitment of time. Time to move along to the next chapter of your life, Doug.

Yeah, Pederson gets the blame for Baalke's bull [BLEEP] and Baalke will still be here...so what does that make us? “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

I kept telling people since last year that something was off on this offense. It's clear now what it was. Doug had passion in 2022. But he decided to let off the gas in 2023. The idea that he has a short shelf life looks pretty accurate. He hasn't shown passion since 2022. He basically gave up on this team in 2023. Now this team is giving up on him. I pissed off about it too. This lazy piece of [BLEEP] just wasted 2 season's of Trevor's career. Lousy no good bum. That's what he is. The press conference today was just pathetic. He has no clue how to fix anything. You know why? Cuz he doesn't care enough to figure it out. He's check out, he's quiet quitting. He's just collecting a paycheck while playing tetris on his office computer while eating Cheetos. I think he deserves the embarrassment of being fired right now. Tell him to get the heck out of the hotel and make him take a flight standard coach flight back to whereever the heck he lives. It's not Jacksonville, that's for sure. He hasn't had his heart in Jacksonville since the 2022 season. He's a bum.

Your first line is nonsense, I'm about as anti-Baalke as they come around here. Have been since he got the job. As for your second, because Baalke is a coach killer, just ask Jim Harbaugh how things turn out when you get Baalkanized. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

Balke was promoted to bring in Urban who was a complete and utter failure. He should have jettisoned with Urbs yet here he is still stinking up the joint. San Francisco rose after his departure. It was not a coincidence.

The only solution is for Khan to clean house, but we know he lacks the fortitude to do it. After all; baalke can hire another one The reality is they are both to blame although Im almost tempted to lay this season more on Doug than on trent We show less advertisements to registered users. Interesting that Cisco and Pederson see it from completely different sides.....
Cisco: It may be even closer to the edge than Pederson realizes, because safety Andre Cisco told Jacksonville television station WJAX-TV in the locker room after the game that defensive players quit in the second half of the game. He didn't exclude himself from that, either. "It was really bad," Cisco said, after Pederson made his culture comment and conducted his normal postgame news conference. "I just ... I feel like it was ... how should I say this ... a lot of quit. Last line of defense in a situation like that you could feel when we're playing as one and when we're not. It felt very early in the game, maybe at halftime, that we weren't playing as one. Guys got to understand, when you're out there, you're really playing for your brother. You're putting guys in vulnerable positions whether that's physically or just from a career aspect. "... Sunday, when it counts, we understand that's the hardest part, but there's no excuse for lack of effort. That's literally the least you can do, is come out and give effort. I'm saying that to myself, too." Pederson: Earlier, Pederson said he was pleased with the players' effort. "I feel like the guys are -- they don't quit," Pederson said. "They keep fighting. We've got to figure out how to just get out of our way and just play football. I say that and it sounds easy, but it's tough. It's a tough game to play and we didn't expect to be here in this spot and now we've got to find a way to get out of it." I don't know what the immediate solution is but I'll say it again what I said 2 weeks ago, I'm glad I didn't buy Sunday Ticket. ETA: this is scarier than watching The Shining by yourself on Friday the 13th or Halloween... If it's true then Khan is dead to me. Khan on Saturday told The Florida Times-Union that he still believes in Pederson and general manager Trent Baalke. After Sunday's loss, Pederson was asked if he still had Khan's support. "I do," Pederson said. "I was just with him, and I do." (10-13-2024, 04:45 PM)flsprtsgod Wrote:(10-13-2024, 04:36 PM)carp8dm Wrote: This doesn't sound like you, flsprtsgod. You're right, you've consistently hated Baalke for years. I'm just trying to figure out why you don't think his seat is just as hot, if not hotter, than Doug's? (10-13-2024, 04:47 PM)homebiscuit Wrote:It’s definitely both.(10-13-2024, 04:29 PM)flsprtsgod Wrote: Yeah, Pederson gets the blame for Baalke's bull [BLEEP] and Baalke will still be here...so what does that make us? Pederson sucks right now. It’s clear he won’t be able to lead this team to a Super Bowl (the ultimate goal). Baalke has been a snake since day 1 but they both share blame because they apparently built this roster together. So if you’re mad at the roster, it’s both. If you’re mad at coaching, that’s Doug. |
