Jaguars managed to lose the bye week again. Future stadium issues? (hypothetical)
|
*The team is 2-9 following one of the most lop sided blowouts in NFL history
*Heavily under produced expectations *The fans have little hope of things getting better *The rest of the season, the best we could hope for is beating some other bottom feeder teams *The GM has done nothing and sent no messsage to the fans there are consequences for the performance of this team *There is always the possibility this team could beat a few other bottom feeders and give Khan confidence to bring them back. *The fan morale is in the toilet and the ownership is good with just sitting steady. I think KHan means well: He wants a winner it is He just doesn't make quick enough or the right decisions for this to matter. For those of you who attend the games, I salute you. I am at home watching on TV and it's so bad I turn it off before the games so I don't know how you sit there and watch this garabe. That brings up a big Dilemma. That new Stadium will be up in a few years. The Jaguars are perpetual losers. How is Khan going to sell tickets to this garbage product on the field? If the team continues to struggle and just like now there is no hope for the future, I can see that Stadium opening up to empty seats. We show less advertisements to registered users. I don't think they'll have a problem selling tickets for the first few years after the stadium is built, no matter how bad the team is..
But once that new stadium novelty wears off.. This could be a blessing in disguise for this team.. We could have an already established new front office and coaches, with a new stadium to boot.. This could be a really good thing and really gets that football blood pumping again around town.
As much as I am disappointed in the Khan error of football, we still have potential at the QB position and the ability to right the franchise.
I am not confident that the right thing will be done but... I will be happy if it does. It boggles my mind that the trenches of this team are so so bad all these years later.
Birth of the Franchise - November 30, 1993
Death of the Franchise - November 29, 2011 Fans deserve better. Thanks for all the good times too many are in the past. I have my doubts about the Stadium Instantly selling out if the team continues it's current trend. Many of the fans who attend home games are fair weather fans. They do not go if they think it will not be a good time. The Jaguars have been a complete snore fest to watch most of this season. Especially when the offense holds the ball less than 20mins TOP per game. I do agree there will be an initial novelty with the stadium but if the team continues like this that will wear down quick. Under Shad Khan we have not only been bad but historically bad. We just got one of the worst and some could argue the worst beating of all Time in the NFL (Especially in the modern era). Khan's response is to continue the course. It does not exactly speak to the fans and say, "HEY this is unacceptable and here are the consequences." It shows Khan has the same tendency to take too long of time to make that hard decision to make a change. It's his history: Gave Dave Caldwell about 8 years (Historically bad) Gave Gus Bradley 4 years (historically bad) Here we are again with Doug. Yes Doug has produced 2 winning seasons including a playoff season. Since 8-3 of last year, this team has played some of the worst football in team history. There is no reason for optimism or no signs of things getting better. Baalke has failed to get the talent and he may have another shot to ruin another Jaguars draft class.
Bye week all but confirms Baalke will be back next season. Doug has a 6 game audition for next year to stake his claim as well.

Winning fills seats. It happened in 2017 It happened in 2022 It will happen again. Jeebus, you love inventing [BLEEP] to be scared of, LOL

The stadium opens to empty seats, the NFL forces the Jags to pay Jacksonville the relocation fee and relocate, the Ga-Fla game decides they don't want to continue in Jax, tumbleweeds blow across the stadium parking lot, people move out of the city, jobs are lost, we become the southern version of Gary, Indiana, crime increases, a hurricane blows away the rest of the city, and we all die. We lost the bye week in a different way to me.. The stadium is fine
What really sucks when I looked at sack leaders and nearly spit out my drink when I saw Donte Fowler Jr. has 8.5 sacks, good for 4th in the NFL. I miss Sacksonville... Wow. I'd personally say I think we have some of the most loyal and dedicated fans in the league, who pay thousands of dollars per year to see a losing season and lose a game per year to London. Plus you factor in the heat, the travelling, the stadium prices. But they still show up. I'd call that damn impressive.

Do we get that benefit under your scenario? if so, then I'm all in !! We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Bro doesn’t attend games but is stressed out about how people will attend games.

Love to hear those stories - only wish I could have been a part of that era down here, although I did catch some good thing like partying at Bukkets and the Crab Pot back in the early 90s when I first moved to Jacksonville Beach. Not only trucks were on the beach, cars of all types. I was distressed when it became civilized because for a couple beers we would pull the stuck cars out. This was in my opinion an inflationary move increasing my cost of partying. The same thing was occurring where Hanna Park is now. 1980's surfing crowd - we used to surf high tide at the pier or 16 St. South - then migrate to Crossroads at low tide. Sandbar's not the same there now and it's a zoo. Was a way better scene back in the day. Bukkets! wow That brought back some memories. Wish we could go eat wings and drink beer at Bukket's during the bye week. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! I would sign up for that!! Anyone remember the dive's called Armadillo? or Mr. B's?
A new broom always sweeps clean.
I've always thought growing up and coming of age in Jacksonville would have been awesome back in the day. Especially if living out towards the beaches.
