Welcome Liam Coen the Jacksonville Jaguars new coach and I want to eat crow!

I gave Shad a ton of crap about keeping Baalke and losing out on their targeted coach.  Ben Johnson was never on the table because Chicago and Ben had that worked out a long time ago.  How else do you explain one day after his loss he gets the job in Chicago.  Good Job Shad with firing Baalke and attempting to get a good young OC with your young Qb.  It it fails this is not on Shad because I think most right now are in agreement this is a good move.

It's pretty much a done deal.  There is just too much smoke here to not see the fire.  It's reported in many circles and now Schefter is reporting it.  I think this is a great move to get a new culture here in Jacksonville. An offensive minded coach who has already proven he can fix broken QB's in Mayfield maybe what the doctor orders.  Let us hope he is the play caller as well.

One year as an OC and zero years as a HC anywhere. Seems like a solid hire.

It does make Liam look a bit shady but it's also a tough position. I used to work with someone who had a similar situation. They were interested in another job, our company offered a generous retention and the other company sweetened their offer where they couldn't refuse.  At the end of the day companies don't really care about you (specifically decent sized corporations). Just an exchange of labor for money and after a year or two nobody remembers you. Always need to look out for yourself.  Would think it's even more true in pro sports with how much turnover there is.

I don't know much about him but obviously hoping we finally hit a home run.

Bucs would have dropped him in a heartbeat if they ever had reason too. It goes both ways.

That said I’m cautiously optimistic. Craziest 24 hours in jags history

Agreed, was glued to twitter and the news sites. And I couldn't spend it with my frens on the board, I had to spend it with dirty redditors.

A handful of us are posting here when this board goes down. It’s a decent site.

Thanks.  I like this message board, but it's down so often these days, and there's no indication that anyone is doing anything to fix it.

Wasnt my top choice but very happy we got Coen instead of Saleh and a few others. I love that the run game is very important in his offense. I wonder how he feels about Etienne and Tank? I think we draft another RB possibly in the 3rd

Ben Johnson did have a better oline, RB group. TE, and WR group with Godwin out.
