@tomrock_newsday I'm told a healthy Will Beatty worked out for Jags yesterday and was offered a contract. He and reps are mulling the offer.

At least they know we need some oline help.

Well dude has been injured left and right but he was a highly graded tackle for a little bit there. Best you will find around this time of year.

@ryanohalloran Beatty interest - says more about Beachum status than depth I think. If Beachum healthy, know they have Joeckel in reserve. #jaguars

might want a proper backup to beach while moving joke to guard. Or beachum isnt healthy.

I hope they do this though

Didn't Josh Wells have surgery? Ryan O is blowing hot air like always. We definitely need tackle depth and for me personally I'd rather Joeckel at guard starting than at tackle.

Tweet from Ryan O'Halloran (@ryanohalloran) - Source confirms Will Beatty visited #Jaguars. "Just a workout" ... "Not at this time" when asked if signing was imminent.

Josh Wells just got injured. Duh they would be working out tackles. Doesn't say anything about Joeckel or Beachum.

This would be a good move. Jags unlikely to find another tackle who has the resume of Beatty. At age 31 and apparently healthy, he would add critical depth to the tackle position. Ideally, Beachum will be healthy enough to start at left tackle by the Packers game with Joeckel at guard. Beatty would be the swing tackle who would replace an injured Beachum or Parnell.

I support this happening immediately. Would be awesome depth. I'm guessing playing time might be holding negotiations back, considering the uncertainty with Beachum. Maybe he's thinking he can hold out and get a better opportunity in Philly or the next team that suffers an injury.

After the Jets game, I'm not so worried about starting Joeckel at tackle.  I know that is still one very important position that needs an upgrade, but he did play well.   So I think we can get by okay while waiting for Beachum to get ready.

Really dude? The last 2 seasons weren't enough. Now one solid preseason game we should keep him there.

He said "Get by okay until Beachum is ready"

Not "keep him there."

Two seasons? He had one atrocious game against Houston, but Joeckel was fine at LT for the first 15 games last season.

From a few Giant fans regarding Beatty:

- Not the most talented but extremely physical.

- Besides some health issues, no other reason to be released.

- Locker room type of guy.

- If healthy, could challenge for starting spot.

Call me crazy but I get the feeling we will sign this guy within the next couple of days.
