It's all about repeatability. Not everyone can swing as pretty as Adam Scott.

It is pretty amazing though that his only coach has been his dad his entire career. Can you imagine the urge to switch to a more "conventional" swing during a slump at any point in his career? Jim Furyk is the ultimate pro and I hope he can grab another major before he hangs it up.

Absolutely...

 

I will add though, his swing, although effective, is really awkward to watch!

I have a more conventional swing... although, I play what's called 'Military Golf'

If you pay to play, you should get to see a lot of the course! Fairways and greens are no fun.

His journey is well documented. Barkley was a single digit during his playing days.

 

He developed the full swing yips/hitch. 

 

Actually, when he was working with Haney, it vastly improved. Not sure what happened since then.
