Mo Alie-Cox, ATH, VCU
|
The former VCU Basketball player has been on Scouts' radar for a while now and is going to go through a workout in Richmond VA. Reportedly, there are 20 teams that are verified to attend but I have no idea if Jacksonville is one of them. Thing is, he's a Grad Student so he is not eligible for the draft, he's a Free Agent and can be signed immediately.
I know that basketball-player-to-Tight-End is the popular go here, but I've seen him play and I think he is violent enough to be a Defensive End. He's listed at 6' 7" / 250 lbs, but we'll see what the "real" numbers are at the workout. While he is light, I think he has the frame to add the bulk necessary for the Line. That being said, he may present more value at the Tight End spot and the matchup issues that creates. Any thoughts on this guy?
I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

The other day I was in a conversation about how much better the NFL would be if all the best tall athletes didn't opt for basketball because of how much more money they can make with a much smaller risk of injury. There are many players in the NBA who would be sensational NFL players, but so few are willing to make the move.

Wpuld have been the best tight end to ever put on a jersey.

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."
Soooooo, no one has any thoughts on Alie-Cox himself then?

He hasn't played football since high school, so I don't think there's really much to say about him. He wasn't very good at basketball, those are my thoughts.
