Sure sounds like a Democrat to me

Listening to ivanka trumps speech sure sounds like Obamas promises four years ago. Fix wage inequality, student loan debt, we'll never have to worry again! You couldve lifted this same damn speech to introduce any Democrat.

Yeah, she's actually a registered democrat.  You could tell her heart wasn't in that speech except when she started talking about democratic issues.  I kept looking over at my wife and asking her if she was trying to sabatoge the convention!!  One reason you can't believe these trumps...

Except Don Jr.  He's a legit Paul Ryan progressive conservative...

Of course, his dad isn't a Paul Ryan conservative...  Donald trump is an nationalistic authoritarian.  His speech was pretty cringe worthy

What we learned from Trump's speech last night:

Donald Trump does a great Richard Nixon impression.

Donald's son and daughter are much better at this speech thing than their old man.

That was an angry speech for an angry crowd. Not so sure it was very appealing for any undecideds.

What a dark and forbidding image of America he presented. Times must be tough within the gated communities.

Donald wants you to be afraid. Very afraid. But that's ok. He's here to save you. He has a plan.

He just doesn't want to share it with you. Perhaps he's waiting for the debates.

Is Trump running for President or Savior?

Come Jan. 20, 2017 there will be tanks in the streets.

I would have loved Rand Paul to be up there.  It's not happening.

Not to long ago on here a handful of conservatives liked to criticise the left for having no hope and being so down on America. Arguments were had. Now their candidate for president is doing exactly that. All apocalypse and doom and gloom. Just an interesting observation.

So what are you guys saying?  This country is fine?  It's clearly not fine.  Not that the President alone can do anything about it, but let's not pretend it's sunshine and rainbows here.

Number of people with no healthcare has dropped drastically.

Wages in certain sectors are up. National unemployment is way down.

The number of cops killed each year under Obama has dropped significantly compared to the last 20 years.

The financial meltdown has been corrected.

Home prices are ticking up

This is not to say things are superb, but we're absolutely not in the times of Mad Max... that's fur sure...

Quote:Number of people with no healthcare has dropped drastically. (Wrong, they have large deductibles and refuse to go to the doctor because they can't afford it. They're paying money they don't have to own insurance they still can't afford to use.)

Wages in certain sectors are up. National unemployment is way down. (Workforce participation is at record lows.)

The number of cops killed each year under Obama has dropped significantly compared to the last 20 years. (Meh.)

The financial meltdown has been corrected. (See next point)

Home prices are ticking up (Meet the new bubble, same as the old bubble. BTW, have you bought milk or hamburger lately?)

Making up "facts" is even more fun. And it gets votes.

Number of people without heath INSURANCE has dropped. People were not turned away before the ACA because they didn't have insurance. Meanwhile, heath insurance costs have skyrocketed (or deductibles have skyrocketed, or both) for those who were covered previously.

Unemployment is down only because nearly 100 million people without jobs are no longer counted.

Not sure about the number of cops killed. That's not exactly a Federal government function.

The financial meltdown was "corrected" at the cost of 10 trillion dollars of government debt. It would have self-corrected if no money were spent.

Home prices always increase, except for the burst bubble in 2008. It's called inflation.

Say what you want about the aca, it's flawed. But the rate of increase has dropped drastically...

As for work force participation... it's hovering right around the 60 year average of about 63%... nice try.

The country needs work. But trumps picture of a dystopian hell-scape is fear mongering propaganda in order to get suckers to vote for a benevolent-to-their-tribe authoritarian

Also, there may well be a bubble, but it's not in the housing industry... Home prices are steady, but they aren't ballooning based on shady lending and sub prime exploitation...

Come on guys, face facts.

Ivanka Trump had a fundraiser for Cory Booker back in 2013.  Much like with her father,  I have serious doubt she had a transformation to the Right.   Unlike her father,  at least Ivanka isn't trying to deceive the voters.

She once helped Cory Booker.

In 2013, she and her husband hosted a fundraiser for then-Newark Mayor Cory Booker, a Democrat, and his successful U.S. Senate campaign.
