Ted Cruz Speech at Convention

#1
(This post was last modified: 07-21-2016, 06:45 AM by The Real Marty.)

Finally, some drama.   Ted does not endorse Trump.

How can you blame the guy, when Trump called him "Lyin' Ted," said Heidi Cruz was ugly and said Cruz's father was involved in the Kennedy assassination?

The least you can say is that Ted Cruz has a lot more backbone than all those other candidates who submit themselves like dogs beaten into submission.

Trump handed Ted a coil of rope and Ted hung himself with it.  Make a speech, break a pledge, end a career, and have your family physically removed from the building.  Perfect.

I'm glad he didn't endorse.  Stick to your guns.

I'd have voted for Cruz. He and I disagree on much, but we agree on much as well. His unwillingness to be a good little monkey and endorse Trump has only further deepened my respect for him.

Hypocrites, all.  I guess you would be praising Trump if he broke his pledge to back the nominee?  Not a chance.

Lyin' Ted showed why he deserves the moniker.

He did make the pledge or whatever to endorse whoever wins, but I honestly don't care.  I would have voted for Cruz just like I'm voting for Trump.  Endorsements are not deal breakers or deal makers for me.

Meanwhile CNN is portraying this thing like all hell is breaking loose.

I can't stand Cruz, he's almost add bad as trump, in my opinion.

But if he would have endorsed trump after trump insulted his wife AND accused his dad of being bff's with Lee Harvey Oswald he would no longer be considered a human being.

He should have just stayed home...

Lol, oh man, just heard Cruz told trump he wasn't going to endorse him 3 days ago.

Trump still gave Cruz a prime time slot!!

What.

An.

Ok, let me guess, trumpettes are gonna spin this about how awesome and forgiving trump is for letting Cruz still have a prime time slot...

Lol, hilarious.

You don't waste a prime time slot on a dude that isn't gonna give you a glowing endorsement...

Trump doesn't need his endorsement.  He knows it.  That's why he let him speak anyway.  It makes Trump look like the good guy because he let him speak even though he knew no endorsement was coming.  Had he disallowed Cruz from speaking, I think we know what the narrative would be.

Speaking of spin, holy crap, you are the queen of it.

Trump allowed Cruz to prove himself to be the liar that he is known to be. Quite funny.

So, I ask the Trump supporters here, did you actually expect Cruz to endorse the man who called him Lyin' Ted, called his wife ugly, and said his father was involved in the Kennedy assassination?

Only a worm would endorse Trump after getting that kind of treatment.  I don't care about any kind of "pledge."   No one with any backbone at all would endorse Trump after what Trump said about him and his family.

And if Trump thought he was going to get Cruz's endorsement after what he said about Cruz and Cruz's family, he's a bigger idiot than I thought.

His family wasn't removed, Heidi Cruz was being heckled, and she and her husband were escorted for their safety.

Did you ever pledge allegiance to the flag?

Ehh, only a pledge. Don't take it if you aren't prepared to honor it.

Not directed at you, but some of you people are so blinded by your animosity for Trump, you can't see the forest through the trees.

Good thing.  They would have ripped them limb from limb.  Those evil republicans.  We know how violent they are.

If Trump had shot Ted Cruz's wife, should Ted Cruz stick by his pledge?   Of course not.   So there are some limits.

You seem to be saying that pledge is absolute, no matter what.

Cruz isn't some victim. Crap was thrown from both sides and the majority of negative ads were anti-Trump

No one went after Trump's family, as I recall.
