Thursday night games as well. Should be interesting, I'm wondering if/how the tech can be implemented to register a made field goal and then eliminate solid goal posts

Haha something like that.

No I've actually always envisioned like a Yellow light beam goal post which if the ball passes through the light it's considered a miss. That takes away from the possibility of bouncing off the post and in, but it does add the ability to determine if the ball is kicked higher than the posts. It's not really practical, but seems really cool to me.

I know what you mean, but wouldn't that take a lot of the tradition of the game out?

I'm all for change in certain aspects of sport, but I think the goalposts need to stay.. personally.. (I know you're just sounding off your idea, by the way)..

Yeah I do agree. You can't replace the excitement of the ding of the goal post and hoping it bounces your way. I think if it came down to it, I'd probably end up preferring the current posts, the idea just seems really cool.

I like the light beam idea. Maybe keep the goal posts as they are now and add light beams to the tops of them instead? Would accomplish determining if the ball was missed if kicked above the post.

That's a good idea as well. I like that one.
