Sneaking a peek at the week one slate in college football. Very solid.

With the draft well in the rear view mirror, this is the football fan dead zone. But it's never too early to look (way) ahead to the first week of matchups in college football. Most involve the biggest name programs in the country and have pretty good potential.

Saturday:

Oklahoma vs. Houston (at NRG Stadium)

UCLA at Texas A&M

LSU vs. Wisconsin (at Lambeau Field)

Georgia vs. North Carolina (at the Georgia Dome)

USC vs. Alabama (at AT&T Stadium)

Clemson at Auburn

Sunday:

Notre Dame at Texas

Monday:

Ole Miss vs. Florida State (at the Citrus Bowl)

I'm going to be drinking all day Saturday.  My son is entering Ga Tech so I now have a pretty decent rooting interest in them.  They kick off the season @ 7am in Ireland vs Boston College.   Mimosas and Bloody's to start the day for me.....

Followed up the next week with:

The Pilot/Flying J Battle at Bristol

      VT       vs         UT

Could set a CFB record for attendance.

The current attendance record for a college football game is 115,109 (Notre Dame/Michigan last year.)

This seats nearly 160,000 and with well travelling VT and UT fans in a close to home venue, this could sell out even at that ridiculous number.

LSU Wisconsin game at Lambeau sounds awesome!  I wonder if I could get on to Whistling Straits while I'm up there.

Looking forward to that opener between my Dawgs and North Carolina. Mostly focusing in on how that defense is going to look with ol' boy from Bama' taking over. And how well Chubb responds after his injury from last season. Don't have too much faith in our QB situation just yet. But we shall see.

Awesome slate of games that first weekend. Total respect for these teams scheduling quality OOC opponents early in the year and not the standard "southwest new jersey technical college of basket weaving" cupcakes.

A buddy of mine and I are thinking about going up for this.  I imagine w/ that many seats we'll be able to scalp pretty easily but worst case would be fun to just go and tailgate.
