Did I wake up in a parallel universe on Thursday?

We get Ramsey AND Jack? Holy freaking crap. Had you told any of us this 6 months ago we'd laugh you out the forum!

Shoot yesterday I said to myself how sweet would it be if Jack fell to us in the 2nd I laughed at myself and couldn't even muster the faith to post it.

Tampa Bay just drafted a kicker in the 2nd round. We're not even alone in those cross-hairs any longer.

I hope Gus doesn't bring us all back to earth by Week Four.

I really think this team is going to win in spite of Gus.  There is too much talent.  The talent will almost overwhelmingly cover up Gus's shortcomings as a HC.

Hopefully... but never underestimate what a motivated underperforming HC can do if given the opportunity. Perhaps this will have a happy ending and we'll achieve a respectable record this season along the lines of 8-8 or so. Perhaps... it all depends on factors that at this time we just don't know about; how will the plethora of potential talent we've acquired actually do this season? We don't know, but we're hopeful.

If it's one thing Gus does well its motivate. I think there's a sense of validity in the argument that an extremely talented team will win "in spite" of Gus. Not harping on Gus, but the guy can get people to feel like they're part of something great and I think we witness the beginning of it last season.

And in addition traded a fourth up to get him!

I'm one of those of the opinion that a few times in your life there may be a kicker who transforms a franchises ability to win games... This kid is that kicker... and yes, he is THAT much better than any kicker you will get available today.... If your team blows.... a kicker can carry many games for you.

like a said though, just a few in a lifetime

Conversation could have run like this.

Caldwell:  Why can't we have both Jack and Ramsey.

Staff:        That would be great, but the chances of that are about nil.

Caldwell:   Maybe not, Lets try this.....................................

When Bosa and Elliot came off the board and we got Ramsey, I'll bet my retirement that Operation JACK went to Flank Speed.

I still am shaking my head in amazement, Johnny O probably has it right, this could be a once a decade event.

Literally trans formative for the franchise. Shoot do you think we will have first pick of the UDFA's ;-)
