Ravens fans reaction to the Ramsey pick
|
I like to go on other message boards to see what other fans are stating. The below link is from the Ravens message board with most of their fans clamoring over Ramsey once Bosa was off the board. The reactions right after the Jags selection are on pages 13+. Prior to page 13 most of the fans were clamoring for Ramsey, wanting a trade up to #4, or hoping the Jags would grab Myles Jack or Tunsil.

Sounds like they tried to jump us to get him. Good ol Jerry wouldn't budge though. Kinda shocked they didn't make a trade, did they think we would've drafted Elliott or traded our pick to someone who would?

It's unlikely that someone trades into the top 5 for a RB. Dallas probably wanted more than whatever Baltimore was offering. Free draft picks are nice, yeah, but Dallas probably was hoping Baltimore would throw in more.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

I could see the Jerry being laser locked and not looking at the board and capitalizing on any gain from a Baltimore trade. We weren't going to take a RB but was there any team that would trade with us to get him?

It seems like a huge mistake for Dallas to me. I just don't see anyone moving to 5 for a RB. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Once Rapaport popped up and said that Ramsey was their #1 guy I was 100% sure they'd take him and we'd have to trade back. Jerry got his way.
I like that some on that board are recognizing how we're building a good roster this year. We may be a joke on the whole in the NFL but people are seeing that we can be a team to look out for. I'm not one to get my drawers twisted about media respect and all that crap because they're a joke anyway. What I do appreciate is when regular folks can see the positives in what we're doing.

I was watching the Dallas local sports guy talk to Bosa, Ramsey and Elliot out of the station here. They gave Elliot much much more camera time. He interviewed very well. I think Jerry leaked it out a little to the sports guys. When they were on the clock, I could of sworn that was a misinformation campaign. Good deal for us.
