My take on Ramsey, I think this was the top player on their board, but, as the article and Caldwell state, they did not think this was going to happen. Im still shocked Ramsey made it to us. When Bosa went to the Chargers, I immediately thought, Jags are getting royally screwed. Cowboys, while Elliot is good, show again why Jerry Jones should not be selecting draft picks. Ramsey is the better prospect than Elliot.
I think the Jaguars were ready to take Bosa with their selection till the Chargers ruined that plan, not that Ramsey was plan B, but the Jaguars probably did not think Ramsey was going to be there.
I felt like Ramsey was going to San Diego. After that didn't happen, I was feeling pretty good about our chances of getting him. The Cowboys had been linked so strongly to Elliott that it seemed like a sure thing.
Going into the draft, I was fully prepared to be let down by Caldwell taking Buckner. Glad I was wrong.
The chargers/Bosa pick made me turn my head a little and wonder.... then the cowboys passed on him and I about blew up at my tv in joy. My wife was like "Is that good?" Yes honey...this is great!
Neither did the fans, and I think both are in shock that he's on the team.
Now he has to learn the playbook & fight for a starting role.. I think he'll get it.. which is saying a lot because neither Prince nor House want to lose the starting role (they assumed they had prior to him being drafted). Quote:Neither did the fans, and I think both are in shock that he's on the team. Since about 2/3 of all snaps on defense use at least 3 CBs, I don't think any of those 3 will lack playing time. Plus, Prince has always been injury prone, hate to say it.
if Jags would've gotton normon last nights pick would've made them a playooff team. Jags will go 4-12 again because of another missed chance, and in the mean time Normon will take Redskins to Super Bowl just like he did the panthers.
I don't like the Redskins at all. Josh Normon is just that good. snowwolf titans owner in madden. note titans owner means im undeafted againest them.
This reminds me of this scene from the movie Animal House:

It is terrible that you're a negative Nancy about this team nowadays.
I wasn't surprised by the crypt keeper taking a running back. They mention local here and then on the national media over and over about the Dallas getting their "tripletts". Heck they even asked Elliot about it and he answered perfectly. When you chase the past and look for that glory you mess up the future. Their lose is our gain. Of course it is still a crystal ball business where factors play out that you can't know about. But it is a win to me.

I forgot which channel I was on at the time, but did anybody catch the shot of our war room and Tony Khan looking like he was thanking the Lord before the pick went in? You could really see they didn't expect Ramsey to be there.

When they have no time, they think about it!
When they go down hard, they think about it! Just watch Peyton, Andrew, Caep even Mr. Bundchen.

They have a great offensive line, great WRs, great TE, real good QB. A stud RB would keep the defense off the field and make all those other offensive pieces that much more effective. Plus, I really think Elliott was one of the very best players in the draft. So I think they did the right thing for the situation they were in. Of course, I'm damn glad they did what they did.
You know I wish the Jaguars had trolled us a little with their war room. You know they are aware of the sprinkles and ice cream talk on the boards. I would have keeled over and died laughing if there was a bowl of ice cream in front of Gus in the War room.

Should have traded up if they didn't think he would be available. Curious to know who they would have taken if he wasn't there..

Sources (Inside) said that Dave's board looked like 1. Jalen Ramsey 2. Leonard Floyd LB GA 3.Bosa
I'm super happy with the pick. It was BAP all day long.
When San Diego took Boas I thought we were screwed. Elliot is a good RB, but it was silly of Dallas to take him over players they really need. Luck was on our side for once.
