Excited about Ramsey

#1

I was really apprehensive, even after Elliott went to Dallas.  I still had this fear we'd trade down, or draft Buckner.  I'm disappointed how the Jack injury played out, but this is one heckuva "consolation prize."

I think Mayock touched on it.

With Ramsey, we now have a guy who can match up well against big, fast, physical WRs like Hopkins.

It should have a ripple effect on the secondary.  Our top 3 corners now will be Ramsey, House and Prince Amukamara.  Two years ago, we had Gratz, McCray and...I can't even remember.  Colvin late in the year?

He could also play S, too.

Now, Cyprien is on notice.  He now gets the chance to do what Bradley and Caldwell envisioned-play almost exclusively in the box.

I think right now, we have the most talented secondary in team history at least since 2004 (Rashean, DD, Deon Grant).

Now to get another pass rusher or two and a C.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

This year we will see a HUGE difference in the secondary, we've finally got some talent in the backfield, it's been a while.

Ramsey was number 2 best available according to many, with the number 1 Tunsil having off field issues. We win the draft day 1.

No way, as soon as I heard Bosa's name for the Chargers I knew that as long as the Cowboys picked Elliott or someone that Ramsey was going to the Jaguars...

I am flipping ready for this season now... if they trade up for Myles Jack.. I'm done.. I'll be so excited my head will explode..

Does anyone wear 21 for us?

Deion Sanders was number 21, but Prince Amukamara currently wears 21 for the Jaguars!

21 is Prince, 24 is Yeldon, 25 is Peyton Thompson (but he could lose his Jersey # to Jalen should he want that one I would think)...

nobody is #8 (not sure if he can keep that number or not)?

Unless Mark Brunell gets mad about it?  Was it retired?

I couldnt find it officially retired..

DB's can't wear 8. He can wear 28 (if Fred says so) or 38 (Sergio was just cut).

Consider the following possible matchups in Week 1

Jordy Nelson vs. Jalen Ramsey

Ty Montgomery vs, Prince Amukumara

Randall Cobb vs.Davon House

To me, I like the way we match up against their receivers now.

Unfortunately, they have Rodgers at the helm.

Even with our DB's matching up better than their WR's on paper, I think them having Rodgers gives them a slight edge.

The x-factor is our ability to disrupt/sack Rodgers via the front 7.

Well I understand that.

Some decent edge rushers are still left on the board, including Dodd (I'm hoping for him), Spence, Calhoun, & Ogbah.  I'm afraid we'll definitely have to worry about Dallas in competition for these guys.  Maybe we can still trade with Seattle.

We will pick a DE in round 2 and a LB in round 3.

Guard or center in 4. Same in 5.

Round 6 and 7 we will pick McCallister and a TE.
