How do you view the team?

When you think back to the found memories of your favorite team, and if asked by a European what type of team has the Jaguars been known for the most what would you say back?

Or as far as a type of scheme, currently many might say Zone 3 Cover Defense with an Offense more geared towards Deep passes to rack up a score & then run late in the game to kill the clock.

If you had to pick one phrase would you say this team is most like a Long Pass team than it is a Zone Defense for example?

For me I've always identified the team as being very strong in the run game.  The way that Freddie Taylor could run and the passing of the torch to Maurice Jones-Drew, and then it had felt briefly to Shoelace, or maybe TJ Yeldon (whom had a great rookie year, all things considered), and now having Free Agent Chris Ivory on the depth chart.  While many will think back to how great Blake Bortles had (which he did have a great year), and how explosive the passing attack is (which its pretty good), I still think of the team as run first... maybe that'll change who knows...

The other thing I always thought and loved this team was the Stout Defense, which has stunk under Gus Bradley (and is very disappointing since he's a Defensive Head Coach).  If I had to pick one thing to say about this Defense over the years would have to be the Defensive Interior.  They've always been elite or at least above average, big, fast, scary guys that could get after the QB or the running back!

I concur with OP, the run game has been the highlight of our short history. We have had some great backs through here. All the way from Stewart, Means, through Freddy and MoJo. I am excited to see us return to that heritage with Yeldon and Ivory, I think they can be a special tandem. I think it may be possible that Yeldon is mentioned with the greats of our history, but is less likely with a modern running game by committee and our strong passing offense.

I think strong run game and stout run D are what gave us most success, even during the prominent air attacking period under TC with Mark, Thunder and Lightning. Was definitely JDR's gameplan during the Garrard era with no true go-to wideouts.

Fred, Mojo, HenderStroud, most tangible impact thus far. Can't forget the brick wall on Mark's blind side afforded by TBoss. All a mirage now. Common fellows, get back to decent, please. Simple consistent decent ball, not 87 yard QB escape laughers, and such. Go Jags

Wide Recievers and Defensive Tackles are our strongest position right now.

I miss the days when we were damn good at winning the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. We were so spoiled by Coughlin's teams, and most of JDR's. JDR's couldn't rush the passer, but man, could we maul some people in the run game.

Has always been about the QBs.

Brunell..... great years

Leftwich/Garrard..... ok years

Gabbert/Lemon/mcCown/tree/etc.... awful years

Bortles..... promise of greatness again.

He asked about the history of the team thus far. But indeed Marks, Miller and Jackson give the team a formidable trio at DT. Hopefully we get back to consistently stuffing the middle.

I always think of Chicago for elite MLB like Mike Singletary, Brian Urlacher

I put the options there, but I didn't select it.. who knows others might feel differently..

Jacksonville's legacy is directly tied to its coaching staff, uh "Hell-Oh!...So that's what he was trying to do. We get it NOW that it is too late and we are in the he middle of another failing coach's third year." Finally, a vision is allowed to come to fruition and I predict the Jags are legit this year.

Which player do you think will run for the most yards this season as a Jaguars, TJ Yeldon or Chris Ivory?  Or another HB like Denard Robinson, Grant, etc?

I think Ivory winds up being the workhorse for the offense.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

As well he should be. Dude is a beast. We will get that yard we seemed to struggle with last year.
