He has such an odd body. His physique leaves me worried about his overall arm strength. Watching his career on tape you see his inability to shed blocks and quickly understand why he is projected as an OLB and not ILB like we need. I still think he will do well as a Jaguar as our division isn't about pounding the ball. It's going to be fun seeing who the brass thinks will help us win the most games.

I was listening to Ross Tucker's show at 6am EST on NFL Radio this morning and he had an NFL physical trainer's insight into Myles Jack 2nd medical visit.  His meniscal tear was repaired, which is the part of the unknown for many of the 32 NFL teams interested in getting Myles Jack.  In the way that he tore it, some compare it to a ticking time bomb.  A few scouts have said that he could certainty be in the Pro Bowl in year 2, year 3 and maybe year 4 and have to retire due to re injury to his knee.   Nobody has a crystal ball but if you could get a Pro Bowl LB for 3 years and maybe be out a majority of his first year would you still draft him at #5?  Many would, but the Jaguars need to win right now... if the guy isnt going to be ready by week 1 & their is a chance that he plays at an extremely high level only to be out of his career in a year to 5 that is a high risk to take....

 

I dunno I think this is one of the hardest Top 10 Mock Drafts to make in the last decade...

That's what the weight room is for. I can't knock the guy for not having an NFL chiseled frame and he hasn't even stepped foot in an NFL locker room yet. Look at Ray Lewis coming out of college:

The source compared Myles Jack's knee situation Jonathan Vilma. Vilma made the Pro Bowl twice, won Super Bowl, but only had 6-7 healthy yrs.




Would y'all take a better Vilma annual pro bowl player if you knew it would only be for 6-7 healthy yrs?

Six or seven years of productivity is far more than the Jags have gotten from the majority of their 1st round picks in the last decade. Sign me up.

If an OLB was the biggest problem to fixing the jaguars defense absolutely without a doubt!  I pose the argument not whether or not Myles Jack will be a very productive OLB in the NFL for a few years (because most people believe that to be the case) but rather that if people feel the same about Joey Bosa at LE, and about Jalen Ramsey at FS or CB.  In my opinion as important as a great LB is to the defense, a shut down corner or ball hawk FS is more... or a real confident edge pass rusher that will give it a 110% and doesnt have healthy concerns (whom could also play SOLB for you too)...

 

It's not that I wouldnt be happy with the Jaguars drafting Myles Jack at #5, its that I think the need for pass rusher 1st of all with Bosa (if he's there) or DB (with Ramsey) is more important...

Okay, maybe I don't know what you know about Bosa & that would change my mind on everything.. please give me the reasons why you doubt Joey Bosa will be good?  Is it because he didn't realize that Jacksonville was on the water..

because I have to be honest that did change my opinion of him a lot...

 

If you went solely on the character interviews, I honestly was most impressed with Vernon Hargreaves III he seemed intelligent, confident, and not scripted.  I was the most worried with Buckner's interview as he seemed like he had memorized what to say and then forgot, and seemed very nervous now that could just be his lack of exposure in front of a camera / social skills or it could mean something more..
