MMORGS

I used to play Everquest,Dark Age of Camelot, and World of Warcraft.Don't know if anyone here was into them, but I used to love all 3 of these.
Don't play anymore, too busy and no time.If I did have time,I'd restart WoW for occasional break from reality. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Not sure if this classifies as a MMORPG, but I like playing Call of War. Its WW2. Nothing fancy like WoW, its more kinda like Risk mixed with Evony if you ever played that.

Played EQ for the free month, then found Dark Age of Camelot where I spent 6 years. WoW never did it for me and I tried playing on two different occasions. I started DAoC on Hib-Percival until the server mergers and everyone I ran with went to the Devon cluster, where we ran all three sides (we all had bot accounts too). In case you didn't know, check out Camelot Unchained. I retired from MMORPGs after Rift failed to keep my attention past 3 months but if anything pulls me out of retirement, it'll be CU.

Daoc was a great game. I was hib/guenivere I think.
Good memories. Seige raids, battleground.Even dungeon crawling
The best MMORPG I ever played was Everquest Online Adventures for the PS2. It was very fun. Very in depth. The social aspect of it was great. At one point if you walked into our house as a kid you could see me, my two brothers and my father (Who had two PS2's set-up to power level one character in a 2-man group) playing all at the same time on a weekend with Planet Radio 93.3 blasting throughout the house. Good times man. My dad liked balance. LOL. We'd do that on a Saturday and then go fishing on a Sunday before or after the game.
After EQOA it was WoW. I stopped playing WoW after WotlK. It got stale and too easy after that. The social aspect died. The hard work and satisfaction died. It was too easy. I enjoyed the grind on the weekends and weeknights to get what I had. Now I really don't play anymore. I tried Destiny. Got bored. I tried Defiance. Got bored. Was tempted to try ESO because I am infatuated with the ES series since the days of Morrowind, Oblivion and still on Skyrim. Haven't given in yet. I tried Final Fantasy Online. Meh. Couldn't handle it. Too "modern" I guess. Tried Rift too a long time ago. Nothing has peaked my interest in this genre anymore since the old early 2000 and mid 2000s. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I've played all of the ones mentioned. Star wars galaxies was fun until the NGE. My favorite I played till the end was Dragon's Gate. It was actual role playing not just grinding.

Quote:Nothing has peaked my interest in this genre anymore since the old early 2000 and mid 2000s. That's largely because the communities tend to be bad. EQ, WoW, DAoC, Ultima Online (the Big Four)...the forefathers of what these children now know as MMORPGs all had amazing communities. That and us grognards always compare whatever we play that's new to our first love, which never works out. I know I wandered between about 20 or so different MMOs looking for an overall experience to what I had in DAoC and nothing ever came close and it got worse as time went on and the graphics got better.

I tried WoW but never could get into it. The only one I played consistently was City of Heroes. I couldn't really get into the stories for these MMORPG, so City of Heroes kind of compensated for that with a lot of other stuff.

I don't think you will find a game that can recapture the magnitude of players those games had in a working world thats scale was huge. If you want a game thats not technically mmorg but has a very interesting community check out the soulsborne games.. Dark souls demon souls bloodborne.

Sometimes I miss WoW. Then I remember how my first guild on WoW went from a bunch of friends having fun to a split between the 1337 "raid ALL the things" crowd and those of us who were still just having fun, the pains in the back end it caused and my ultimate decision to leave the guild and, finally, leave the game after watching guild after guild fall down that path.
Oh, and the guild I was in for one day before realizing that a guild member shouting "CALL TO ARMS!" in gchat apparently meant that we were supposed to drop what we were doing and go get slaughtered in PVP because everyone in the guild sucked at it. But man, that cliff in Nagrand facing the sun with a nice little cutout in the trees that you needed a flying mount to get to...my old character is still sitting there watching the sunset, right where I left him 7-8 years ago.

That was my "side chick" for a very long time flying around as my Martian Manhunter/Red Tornado amalgamation (a Storm/Psi Defender)

FFXI and WoW back in the day. Still get down with some FFXIV every once in a while.
Quote:FFXI and WoW back in the day. Still get down with some FFXIV every once in a while.FFXIV is the only MMO i still play, after 2 years now. It's very much casual friendly. I can login for an hour or so a day and get stuff done. Or if I have more time, I can be on for hours and on. There's no way I can play FFXI-type MMO. I didn't have time for it when I was young, certainly not now as an adult.
I've gotten into warframe... Its free on consoles and Imo, its an improved version of dystany. Very customizable and did I mention free lol... it really is a great game if you get into.
Kinda likr wow meets dystany and halo
I don't remember many of the computer games I played D&D
Advanced Dungeons & Dragons: Heroes of the Lance The above was one of the old ones, but I remember something like Bard's tale.. one that was wind, earth, fire or something.. they used to be fun early 90's We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! |
