Per PFT. Funny, I thought Del Rio was set at kicker.

Starting to think JDR ran this team into the ground on purpose just so he could pick these guys up later.

Del Rio nearly ruined Nelson. No idea why he would want to go there.

It is like a month into free agency, Oakland might be the only team even interested in him.

If he were as "good" as some think, he'd still be a Bengal.

I don't necessarily disagree with your assertion regarding Nelson.

However, to what free agent wouldn't that logic apply?

Do you mean to suggest ALL free agents are not as good as people think?

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

So who really cares (other than the gaytors fans)?

I wish Nelson could have worked out here.

I'm sure all Jag fans would agree.  He found a perfect fit with a team with talent around him, who let him play without a playbook.

Nelson has been really good the past couple seasons. He was leading the league in INTS for quite some time last year, was making big plays, and tackling very well as compared to his first couple seasons. (Did you see the big-time hit he laid on Owen Daniels last season when Daniels was going to catch a game winning TD and Nelson laid the wood on him, completely jarring Owen and the football apart? It was an "old school" type of pounding. Big-time hit).

Cincy lost quite a few key players in FA this offseason. IDK if they had salary issues there, but they couldn't retain key players.

Maybe Nelson's age and/or expected salary is a big factor there? Idk.

I think he still has a couple good seasons left in him.

His problem is that his physical talent is inversely proportional to his intelligence.  He's a back yard player.  He doesn't understand and can't learn schemes.  He just goes after the football.  Not all teams can afford for a FS to operate that way, unless you scheme for that.  Again, he found a perfect fit in Cincy that would allow for it without him being a liability as he was here.

Otherwise, teams would have seen more of this:

The announcer misses the call, but you can see from the second angle that 20 is the guy out of position.  On the Jaguars broadcast, Lageman nails it.

It's called a "long con", and when they work, they are some of the most spectacular sights known to man.
