Noah Spence visiting this week

#1

According to Ian Rapoport, Noah Spence is visiting the Jaguars (and several other teams this week).

Genuine interest from Caldwell or just due diligence ?

I think it's due diligence and genuine interest, in case he falls to the 2nd round or in case we trade down.

Do you guys think that if Caldwell & Co were not facing a win or else mandate, he would take a chance on or even consider Spence?

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

Bring him in, and let something leak about a poor interview. Then trade back into the first and select the falling Spence.

I don't think the supposed "win or else" mandate makes any difference in the case of Spence, because the risk he carries is immediate as well as longer term.   He could just as easily get a drug suspension this year as next year.

I'd like him in the second maybe the 1st if we traded back

Someone needs to launch a good false rumor about Spence to assist his availability in the 2nd round....jk.

Yes, since he's supposedly cleaned up his act and has been upfront about his past transgressions. I'm not sure we can come away with him as the crown jewel of our draft class, but if we decide to take him in the second or trade up a bit to draft him in the late first, I don't think that would be a radical shift in Caldwell's drafting.

Due diligence would have been done at the Senior Bowl. I'd say this is more genuine interest.

Put him up at the Gator Lodge. Then circulate a picture of him out front talking to the fans.

I think its in case he does fall. I think caldwell always has a couple guys mid first he would consider trading back in for if they fell

Word is he bombed the private interviews at the combine so maybe they're wanting to give him another shot at that.

Yeah, and it came out like 3-4 days after the Combine that he didn't do as bad as first reported.

So yeah, gonna take that with a massive grain of salt.

Like others have mentioned, I'd love to get him in round 2 if possible.  Way too big of a risk with the 5th overall pick after the Blackmon debacle.

That said, it's not like ecstasy's an addictive drug that people get hooked on.  It's just a college party drug.  A recreational thing some people try a few times then move on to just drinking or whatever.
