And let's say that we wanted to trade back in late 20's for a pass rusher but in the top 20-22 Lawson, Spence,Floyd and the first tier pass rushers are gone (like it happened last year with Gurley and Gordon), what do you do at that point?

 

Stay put at our second round spot and take best pass rusher available?

Stay put at our second round spot and take best player available?

Or trade up a few spots to make sure you get a guy like Ryan Kelly or Joshua Garnett to fix the interior Oline for good? (hopefully)

 

I have to say that as much as I want pass rushers if the higher rated pass rushres (on our board) are gone I'd probably go Oline for a potential longtime starter like Kelly or Garnett and then draft DE in 3rd and later rounds.

If the pass rushers are gone, I'd stay put and go BAP at corner/strong safety/guard/center. I think there are plenty of good players in this draft that we wont have to trade up for a starting caliber player.

In 2002 I wanted the Jags to draft Andre Gurode in the second round (pick 40). Dallas snatched him 3 picks earlier. And Caldwell appears to have made two good trade-ups in selecting Allen Robinson and Brandon Linder. But usually there's a good player who drops, so a trade up is expensive insurance.


 

This year it appears there will be a good player available at #38.

I would trade up a handful of spots overnight if Kelly is still there after round 1, but the team seems so assured that Linder will be their C next year that I wouldn't in their shoes. Whitehair/Westerman/Garnett are fairly close enough at G to what Kelly is at C that if we really feel we have C locked up with in house options I would stay put.

Select Jack(Sonville) at the #5 spot and stay put while selecting the best PR available within the second round. We've selected two starting O-Linemen within the 3rd. rounds in the past two years so let's keep the trend going.

If Jack is the first pick, the Jaguars should do everything in their power to move back up to the 20's if Spence, Dodd or Lawson is there. The defense would be pretty much fixed with Jack and one of these 3 LEO's. If they have to give up both their 2nd and 3rd rounders, they could then address the interior of the offensive line in the 4th round. With all the free agent acquisitions, this team will not have that many roster spots available. I don't like the other pass rushers, especially Ogbah and Calhoun, so they need to get one of the other 3 to play in the rotation with Fowler.
