What would it take to bring the NFL Draft here?

#1

Shad is a man with vision. Every part of our organization and our city is being upgraded. A year or so from now another vision of Mr. Khans will come true- a top of the line entertainment area attached to our stadium. Every time I go to the stadium it transforms into something bigger and better. I can not wait to see this behemoth up close when it is done. Yes, way down the road the Shipyards could transform our downtown into a game changer. But that is years away. This is an immediate change to the way we will think about our team and our downtown. Which brings me to this thought...

What would it take to bring the NFL Draft here?

I know it is not an unique idea but it still bears being brought up. We know a Superbowl is not in the works anytime soon. But the Draft? Would we be ready for that? Our future new venue would very realistically be one of the top options for the NFL. Shad is not a man to do something only half heartedly. Think of the draw our city would have if the Draft was brought here. Our city could not handle the amount of people for a Superbowl but I believe it could handle the Draft. In the 11 years since our Superbowl bid our downtown/riverside/etc areas have grown immensely. I hope that once the upgrades are down we at least start to hear some serious talk about Jax being an IT place to go. And as always-it would not hurt to be fielding a playoff ready team also.

A second big hotel might help...and a downtown bar or six...

Khan would go gangster and have the draft on his yacht.

Don't think we have any shot until the indoor practice facility, amphitheater, and shipyards are built up.

Also I assuming that there are some hotels being built on the shipyards property.

Unfortunately, we are probably still a decade away from the shipyard project.

I think the new stadium in LA is going to be the home of the draft+combine.
