Jags showing interest in the beast known as Shaq Lawson

We asked for a medical re-check on his shoulder injury, Lawson is the only "force" player at the edge rush position in this draft, extremely athletic, powerful and productive. It wouldn't surprise me if is a "surprise" selection at 5, a better situation would be trading down from 5 to 10-13 and selecting him there.

Thank you lord lol. Ive have been pretty high on him lately. He is the best and cleanist edge rusher with the highest upside to me in the draft. Im completely fine with him at 5

Def a dark horse candidate for #5

Would be totally, totally cool with it.

Ideally we trade down and grab him

Its funny how people always say trade down and grab him. How do you know he will be there to where you trade down to?

It's simply, just a thought

I would not draft him at 5. We are desperate for a pass rusher but Lawson at 5 would be over drafting a player. I would be fine with a trade down and selecting him. If Jack is there I would take him because some pass rushers might fall in this draft giving us a chance to select one in the 2nd round or trade up into the 1st to select one.

Yeah but what do you do if a trade down is not possible and the draft plays out accordingly:

Titans Tunsil

Browns Bosa

Chargers Ramsey

Cowboys Jack

There's two QBs available in that option ^ and I'm sure someone would want to move up at that point. However, there's no guarantee that he'll be there. If he's the guy, you take him at #5....

Agreed.  I'd take him in that instance.

I would try to trade down. If you can't trade down I would take BAP not a QB. It could be Buckner. I know we have enough 3T and 5T but I like value so I would take best DE available. But I think if it goes like you said the QBs will be available and I think the Rams will aggressively try to trade up and I would take their 2 second rounder in return and swap 1st. I would 1then take Lawson or Floyd.

Best edge rusher available in the above scenario is Shaq Lawson. Wouldn't be Buckner in my opinion.

Worked well with the last Clemson edge rusher....

I'm all for the best defensive player at #5.

BAP varies from team to team and how they have their draft boards ordered. Some teams may have Lawson ranked ahead of guys like Buckner.

I'm starting to see that Lawson very well could be a option at 5 if we can't trade down. He is a speedy edge rusher and great in the run game as well. I hope we trade down with SF for their 2nd rounder.

I have Lawson ahead of Bucker.  I think Lawson would be in that same tier as everyone else left and him being an edge rusher seals the deal.

I think Shaq Lawson is much higher perceived by GMs than many of these mock draft guru boards.  It would not surprise me to see him go in spots 5-10, instead of 10-15 by many out there.

If you think Lawson is your guy, the kind of guy who is worth a first round pick, I don't care if he is picked at 5. Who cares if people think that is picking him too high. They said the same thing about Blake

Blake almost went number 1. If Dave has Lawson as his best player on board at 5 I guess you take him if there is no trade down opportunity. You don't want to miss out on a player even if you think he is not worth the 5th pick. I think we should trade down and get him but if we have no option at 5, Lawson wouldn't be that bad of a pick.

I think Ramsey and Bosa are overrated. Jack would be my guy but if he is gone then Lawson will work.
