The fact of the matter is, this should have gone away years ago.
For one thing, NPR and PBS receive relatively few dollars from the government in order to operate. Another thing is that both forms of broadcasting are antiquated and obsolete with the digital age. Finally, the government should not be financing any form of media. There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't.
The federal government has no business funding these types of enterprises. Anyone that feels PBS is beneficial to their child's education feel free to stroke a check from your own personal account to make up the difference.
