Pats Trade Chandler Jones

#1

Jones to Cardinals for 2nd round pick and Jonathan Cooper.  Interesting.

They moved a promising young OL and a 2nd Rd pick for Jones.

I think the pats made out a little better here but the jaguars weren't in position to make that trade.

We are trying to bolster the OL and add a pass rusher.

Maybe that's why they were trying to lock up beachum though. Trade joeckel for Jones. Who knows?

Holy crap.

I hate to throw this out there, but I'd have easily given up Linder and a two for Chandler Jones. Sorry B-Lind, nothing personal, you're great and all, but it's a lot easier to replace a guard than a stud edge rusher.

You're nuts. Linder is regarded as our best OL. If you give him a value of a 2nd rounder, you're talking about trading a really high 2 and another 2, for an inconsistent Chandler Jones with character issues.

The most important thing the jaguars can do to promote success is to keep bortles upright. I definitely disagree with your logic or desire for that trade proposal.

That'd be too much to give up for me. Especially since Jones is a free agent next season.

No way am I giving up Linder and a high 2nd for Jones sorry

We are in position to get another pass rusher in the draft, I would give up a 2nd for Jones but not my best OL guy and a 2nd

A stud pash rusher who will need to be paid $18 million next year, I'd rather draft someone high than pay that kind of money for our D-line. I understand that pass rush is the second most important part of a team. We're not winning a super bowl this year, let Fowler develop plus our incoming rookies and next year's FA's.

Yeah, your crazy if you'd give Linder and a high pick for Jones. I love Jones but he's going to get paid and Linder is one of the best young interior OL in the NFL. That 2nd Rd pick gets a high end talent too.

I agree with this. Also if you think of it as hypothetical the jaguars take Noah Spence in Rd 2, you would basically be trading Noah Spence and Brandon linder for Chandler Jones.

Spence and linder combined will be making less money than Jones next year too.

No thanks. Not worth it whatsoever.

I wonder what Cooper's value is equivalent to in draft picks?

A fourth/fifth rounder?

At this point, just get edge rushers through the draft. Tired of not offering enough money, not being "sexy" enough of a city, and not having anybody to trade. There's something to say about being a player's "first" team that took a chance on you. I want players that want to be in Jacksonville

I wonder if they'd have made this trade if they still had that first round pick. TOO BAD!

They probably got a good idea on what he wants money wise. They wouldn't do this if they thought he'd leave.
