What are the Jaguars' needs after Gipson?

#1

As of this posting, the Jaguars have signed the following players

Malik Jackson DT

Tashuan Gipson FS

Chris Ivory RB

Brad Nortman Punter

What are the Jaguars biggest needs now?

The way I see it the following positions are biggest needed

CB - House and Colvin are good but neither is a #1 shutdown corner

LB - Telving Smith is the Jags best LB.  Poluzsny and Skuta are good against the run but they can't cover very well

Center - The Jags are 1 or 2 OLinemen from being great on offsense

I think several of these needs will be addressed in the draft.  Such as Myles Jack and Ryan Kelly.

Another Pass Rusher.

They will solve CB or LB in the draft. (I think they could still draft Ramsey and play him at CB then move him to Safety if there is an injury or as him career progresses)

If we resign Wiz (which I think will happen now that Mack and Oseleme set the market, we'll slide in just under on a 2-3 year deal, imo)

Draft Jack in round 1 and in round 2 address CB with Artie Burns

The rest of FA and draft is going to address depth at every level, imo.

Pass rusher is still the most important but I don't like any of them at 5.

I think the best bet for talent would be vh3 and then trying to get Spence or a high level pass rusher in round 2.

A trade down could also be very useful.

I thought free agency would help narrow it down better but for me the only thing I really took from it is less of a chance of taking Ramsey.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

During this free agency period, the Jags also signed TE Marcedes Lewis. He was a free agent.

Needs (in priority order):

Edge Pass Rusher- need someone to bookend and/or rotate with Fowler.

CB- starter outside to allow Colvin to move inside.

Center- need a captain of the line, Bowanko does not appear to be the answer.

LBs- need speed to go with Telvin and depth.

LT- need someone to back up or compete with Joeckel.

3) Guard/Center depth.

4) CB.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Jaguars added a Kicker for viable competition.  Someone who is more than a 2016 UDRFA.

Prince would be a nice add, Maybe take a chance on a nick Perry type player.

I'm feeling like vh3 is the pick if jack and bosa are gone.  Ryan Kelly in the 2nd if no OLmen are signed outside of Wiz and no predraft star potential pass rushers are left at 38.

Season Tix, Section 409

2023 and still counting.....SB will finally be ours soon enough.

Pretty much this except the OCD in me makes me have to put C ahead of CB because leaving just one position, on the entire offense, that hasn't been seriously addressed, would bug the crap out of me.
