Cuts keep coming: Ravens released veteran linebacker Daryl Smith, per source.

He had a pretty good season, so he should catch on somewhere else.

I think he'll find it tough to find a spot somewhere. He's 33 and his best days are behind him. Maybe some quality depth for a team.

At least statswise, he had a pretty good season. He ended up with 121 tackles, 3.0 sacks, and an interception. I think he could find work as a stopgap somewhere for a year or two.

It is a shame he hasn't been a Jaguar the last 3 years or so. The team certainly could have used him.

Oakland seems like as good a landing spot as any, but it'll be hard for a 33 year old linebacker that isn't much of a special teamer at this point to stick somewhere.

Eugene Monroe is next, but but but Dave should've kept Monroe and Smith1

He SHOULD have kept Smith. He gave the Ravens 3 good years. Not like they cut him a week after they signed him. We knew he was older.

Why? What would have been the purpose? Time to develop and find new players.

Is it possible that Brandon Marshalls production is the product of having 2 hall of fame edge rushers, along with two probowl interior rushers, along with 3 shutdown corners (Talib, Harris Jr, Roby) along with two really good safeties on the backend?

I'm not sure what this has to do with Daryl Smith....but...OK.

What's the point of having a good player? Hmmm

How many years ago was this? Easy to make this comment now.

You talk like we aren't 12-36 the last 3 years.

You're original post said time to develop and find new players regarding Darryl Smith's release, yet they cut Brandon Marshall, who apparently is a half-way decent LB. So basically your point made no sense.
